So sit back watch the videos and see if you agree with what I have to say as these WWE hopeful’s try to make it to the big shows and become the the future of the business.

Hunico vs. Trent Barreta
~ Hunico, I believe this is the first time for me to be introducing him, you may or may not know is originally from AAA (Asistencia Asesoría y Administración) under then name Incognito. Over the years he has appeared in TNA, during the World X Cup, in Chikara in late 2007 and early 2008, and a couple appearances in ROH in early 2009. Barreta on the other hand has already made it up to the big shows and is currently on the Smackdown roster. He was most notably known with his tag partner Caylen Croft when they were The Dude Busters in the later life of ECW and they also normally competed on Superstars. Croft was released late last year and has sort of left Barreta without much happening other than a few dark singles matches, though I just read something that may be bringing him back into the spotlight coming as early as this weeks SD (1/14).
This match was definitely a good way to start off this weeks episode of FCW. Back and forth action with some with what I felt Hunico got the nudge as the one who needed to shine in the match. This match had descent chemistry and kept the match at where it needed to be. Hunico, even though is in last place in The Jack tournament, shows signs that he could still be called up to the main shows soon and if he can keep matches coming like this and stays healthy.
Barreta did alright for himself as well, and even though I thought him and Croft made a better tag team it will be interesting to see how far he goes as a singles competitor.

(2) Triple Threat Divas Match: Naomi Night [c] vs. AJ Lee vs. Rosa Mendes [Q]
~ Standard Divas match I thought, though I still say Naomi and AJ are two actually talented female wrestlers. Even on the all Diva season of NXT, AJ I thought showed a lot of promise. This match I think may be hampered a bit by Rosa, and falls a little short with an odd finish.
(3) Lucky Cannon vs. Peter Orlov
~ These two met over a month ago in a one on one match that was left in pure controversy that then led to Cannon picking up the following pinfall soon after. This match is aiming to be the follow up to see who really is the decisive winner. This match was pretty descent, though it shows the limitations that I was afraid of with Orlov who is just a bit too short compared to Cannon. Though Orlov does show a tremendous fight in the ring sort of like Tyson Kidd. To be honest I think them two could have some solid matches in the next few years, but it will be hard for Orlov fight through the “big man” mentality that WWE is known for. I don’t want to spoil much, but this feud between the two is just beginning following the bout. Cannon will definitely have some word for Orlov soon and it should be interesting to see how things come about.
Aksana Show w/Connor O’Brien
~ My mind was blown just saying….2 of the most overblown accents in professional wrestling today talking together, need I say more. I don’t know what it meant to accomplish, but at least this did not end up on NXT.
(4) Percy Watson vs. Brodus Clay w/Jackson Andrews
~ Last week it was Andrews vs. Watson this week we he gets his partner as of late big Brodus Clay. Watson has been looking to finally turn the notch with in ring ability and demeanor and what no better than going up against the two biggest in FCW as of late. Big Clay took charge early on in this match and that was almost a given that would happen. Watson would follow up with his speed and take advantage of his right openings. In the end it was an alright match, a screw up ending that should have taken more time to correct, but it is what it is now.
(5) Byron Saxton vs. Abraham Washington
~ The feud that has been building for weeks now, Washington has a bone to pick with Saxton and has been suspended for almost a month because of Saxton fearing what Washington could do to him. Washington was originally the big player when it came to running things as the heel in the promotion but with Saxton evermore so sitting and planning in the background eventually Washington lost everything he had built. This brings us to their match today as it will settle the score and for Washington to finally get some payback.
Saxton plays the heel pretty well in this match. Psyching out Washington early on and playing the match how we wants it to go over letting Washington gain control. One thing that I can note on is that I see both of these guys taking some pages out of The Rock’s book when it comes to how they both wrestle and handle themselves in the ring. In the end I was left with wanting a bit more from this match, with all that they built to this match could have came down to having a bit more emotion and situations it it. I don’t know it felt a bit rushed in the end, but maybe then again it could just point out to who really has the upper hand in FCW.

Well there you have it another week of FCW has come and gone, a few thing should continue on into the next coming weeks while somethings have come to an early close or have they? Got to wait next week to see what gets the nod to continue.

Normally I post through MegaVideo, but due to complications I was forced to hold this post back a week. Nonetheless, I have an alternative in the form of youtube that should suffice until things get straightened up.

Card:
(1) The 2nd Ever Grand Royale (Winner gets title shot later in the evening)

Wrestlers have 30 seconds to battle from outside the ring, and get into it before time is up. For those who do not get back into the ring they have to head to the back. Those who are lucky enough to get in the ring they get to participate in a standard battle royal set up with the last man in the ring getting a shot at Mason Ryan for the FCW Championship.

Participants who actually made it into the ring: Bo Rotundo, Brad Maddox, Calvin Raines, Damien Sandow, Hunico, Jinder Mahal, Lucky Cannon, Marcus Owens, Richie Steamboat, Roman Leakee, Seth Rollins & Xavier Woods.
So definitely who we have left is the whose who of FCW, and a couple that sure enough will be known before too long. It is hard to judge a Battle Royal, though it is my goal to not to try and talk a play by play, but my observation of how the talent is growing and the like. Definitely look at the names my favorites, would be Rotundo, Woods, Raines, Mahal, Cannon & Rollins. Funny how a couple of those actually have past accolades, but they all seem to be one step from making it on the main rosters sooner than later. There is also a good mix of smaller and bigger competitors in this Rumble from the larger and stronger Raines/Owens down to the speed and quickness of Hunico and Woods. The winner is getting a big boost in the current standings and after seeing who actually won it is interesting to see what is going to happen come the main event.
(2) Derrick Bateman vs. Brodus Clay
Two current NXT competitors meeting in FCW to see who is the better competitor. On paper it makes this match look completely one sided with the big Brodus on one end and the smaller Bateman on the other. Though to be honest Bateman is better off than most might think. Bateman has shown that he has a lot of talent when it comes to his grappling ability as well as speed that Brodus definitely cannot match with him. That definitely comes into play in this match with Bateman actually being able to get the big man down, but then that also leaves in one of Bateman’s strong negatives and that is the fact that his intensity sometimes overshadows his skill. He can definitely turn the match in his favor, but soon he shows his age as a competitor and gets caught on a mistake. That is where Brodus can capitalize because once he gets his hands on his opponent it can spell the end for whoever he is facing.
(3) Kaitlyn vs. “The Queen of FCW” Rosa Mendes
Kaitlyn of course was the winner of NXT Season 3, better known as the all women version of the show, or the joke season if you are Michael Cole. Personally I am calling Kaitlyn, WWE trying to get a replacement for Trish Stratus, with her being big with fitness and being more of a strength competitor in the ring. Mendes, to me, seems to be lacking something that a lot of the divas have. I mean she can dance but this is wrestling, another pretty face is just a pretty face, nothing more to me when it comes to the wrestling world. To be honest that is what I thought Kaitlyn was when she first appeared, but she has some talent in the ring. Both Kaitlyn and Mendes could eventually get somewhere, but we will see in do time who grows the most and gets their game down better.
(4) Abraham Washington vs. Trent Baretta
Abraham Washington comes out and cuts a promo to the FCW talking about how he is looking to become the commander in chief for FCW once again as well as becoming the Florida Heavyweight Champion as well. One of Washington’s strong suits is his mouth, he is a very vocal wrestler and at times is not afraid to speak his mind. You may all remember his stint in the late ECW before it finally closed for good, but there was a reason why WWE stuck him with a talk show setup. No telling whenever he will get the call back up to the main show, but personally I would hold him on the higher end of the call up list. Baretta spends no time making his way in the ring and showing while he is a part of the Smackdown roster. He shows a lot of intensity towards Washington and does well for himself early on. Washington on the other hand, I see it more and more, each week definitely aims to take a page out of The Rock’s playbook. From his variation of the Belly to Belly Slam to the flashy elbow drop and finally even the way he does a DDT. Very reminiscent of Rocky in more ways than one. Both men had a good match tonight with both men looking good no matter who picked up the 1, 2, 3. Though with Baretta already seeming to be a mainstay on SD it will be interesting to see how his recent luck keeps going for him.
(5) FCW Heavyweight Championship Match: Mason Ryan [c] vs. The Winner of Grand Royal
Calvin Raines won the Grand Royal and has earned himself a championship opportunity. Both men in the match-up are pretty much evenly sized just from them standing in the ring together. Though with power the current champion, Ryan, gets the nod. All in all a descent match, Raines played his character well showing that Ryan was definitely the stronger of the two but picking his spots to take advantage of his opportunities. Though something that I notice on the side of Ryan is that he pauses here and there like he is waiting for the next spot. I would say he could use some loosing in up in the ring to get in the groove of things better. Though he does have the strength though to get him up to a future stature like a Dave Batista or Brock Lesnar, going with the idea if he is used in that way. Vince is known for loving his big powerhouses and that is what you get Ryan, and with him debuting this week on RAW joining up with the “New Nexus” he is one step closer to one day being the top guy in the WWE. We really didn’t get to see a whole lot from Raines in this match other than the couple controlling moments he had, but he seems to alright for the most part, have to see some real ring play from him before I pass judgment on him. Raines is another big guy and as I have mention those are usually the ones to get over in the WWE. I looked up Raines history and it is interesting to note that he comes from the Team 3-D Wrestling Academy, so it will be interesting to see what he brings to the ring in the weeks and months to come.

The next edition of FCW wrestling it has been announced that we will see another round of the “The Jack” The Jack Brisco Classic, and FCW Diva’s championship match as Naomi defends against AJ. Then the Tag Titles will also be defended by the current champions Titus O’Neill and Damien Sandow. So next week is sure to be looking like a good show going in and I will hopefully be bringing it to you. So be sure to check back to PWPonderings.com next Thursday for all the latest FCW action.

As usual any comments or want to talk wrestling shoot me a comment at twitter.com/PuroresuSpirit or leave a message on the PWP Facebook page under this update and I will try and will more than likely see it.
