Elyria, OH – August 14th and 15th
Disc One
Team Beyond (Chase Burnett & Zane Silver) vs. The Jollyville Fuck-Its (Russ Myers & T-Money)
The Fuck-It’s jump Team Beyond before the bell. They use their sheer power and size advantage to take the early control. However, Silver helps Burnett take T-Money over with a huracanrana to regain control. This became pure insanity, with each pulling out some crazy stuff against each other. The move of the match was when Russ Myers gave Silver a German suplex, so that Burnett got taken overhead and DDT’d Silver on his way down. It was INSANE. Both these teams kept trading moves back and forth, until Silver dropkicked a seated T-Money into a crucifix pin from Burnett for the pin at 5:34. This match was seriously unbelievable. From bell to bell, this was nonstop, exciting action. I had never seen the Fuck-Its until this match, but they did a phenomenal job meshing with Team Beyond in a fantastic match. One of the best matches around five minutes I’ve ever seen. ***
Johnny Cockstrong vs. J-Block vs. TJ Marconi vs. Nick Talent
J-Block and Cockstrong were the real stars of this match, which really goes to show just how match they have improved over the past year of Beyond shows. Marconi and Talent both had good outings, but Marconi just has a really strange look to him. He’s like a tall, lanky hybrid of Dolph Ziggler and KC James who wears a singlet and neck tie (since he’s rich, apparently). Talent showed some real potential, but didn’t get enough offense in for me to have a definitive opinion of him. J-Block ended up hitting the Brain Eater on Cockstrong for the win at 6:45. Fairly typical four way affair. **1/4
Corvis Fear vs. Jonny Mangue vs. Anthony Stone vs. Darius Carter
The four way seems to Beyond’s bread and butter these days. This match saw all four guys deliver, and Darius Carter really break out of the pack. He was able to utilize a lot of maneuvers to see him take down multiple opponents (like a Code Breaker to both Mangue and Fear simultaneously). The other three did a great job as well, especially Stone who has really opened my eyes over the past two shows now. Really, this was just another frantic, fun four way match that saw a lot of cool, innovative stuff. Fear picked up the win with a Shining Ace Crusher at 11:11. ***
Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous (Darius Carter & TJ Marconi) vs. The Jollyville Fuck-Its (Russ Myers & T-Money)
The Fuck-Its once again put in a really strong showing, destroying Carter with a variety of offense and double team moves. Marconi actually did a lot more for me in this match, serving as a nice counterpart to Carter. To Me, Carter and Marconi are what The All Night Xpress should be; a team that has an arrogant aura, but still can wrestle a match without trying to nail that point into our heads at every second. Marconi did a great job in the comeback, taking out Myers and T-Money. Marconi gave both Myers and T-Money a double TKO, and Carter followed up with a Code Breaker to Myers for the pinfall at 13:33. Really strong tag outing from both teams. ***
Lamont Williams vs. Izeah Bonds vs. Delor De Cabeza
Williams is the trainer of both Bonds and Cabeza. It looked as if Williams was going to leave his students alone to fight it out, but couldn’t it help but run in to attack at times. Eventually, Bonds and Cabeza turned their attention torwards their trainer and took him down. Cabeza and Bonds are both men of larger carriage, but certainly wrestle as if they were much smaller. I’ve seen Bonds a few times before, but this is certainly one of the more impressive outings I’ve seen him have. Although they have talent, Cabeza and Bonds need to clean up their look and shed some weight before they’ll be taken seriously. Williams ultimately snuck in the win, as when Cabeza came off the top rope for a big splash on Bonds, he caught Cabeza with an ace crusher and pinned him at 12:38. If I were Williams, I’d be proud f the effort his students put forward. **3/4
Elimination Match
Chase Burnett vs. AERO! vs. J-Block vs. Aiden Hallows

This really didn’t heat up till Burnett and J-Block came down to the final two members of this match. Then those guys beat the crap out of each other, and had tons of believable, exciting pinfall attempts. Before that, the match was fine, but you couldn’t help but feel everything going on was rather innocuous. Hallows eliminated AERO at 5:55 with a twisting senton. Hallows taps out to a modified crossface from J-Block at 8:06. Burnett pinned J-Block with a kneecolepsy at 11:59. Really good stuff in the final four minutes. ***
Disc 2
Danny Danger vs. Johnny Cockstrong
Beyond is the one company that consistently brings in new talent and out of nowhere they impress the heck out of me. Danny Danger did just that. This guy is so crisp, and has a really innovative offense. He did a 619 into a splash that had me marking out. Cockstrong started out early with his comedy routine, but ended up having to bust out his signature top rope Air Raid Crash (Called the Yes Way) to get the eventual win at 11:44. This for me was Danger’s coming out party, with Cockstrong being lucky enough to get the win in the end. **3/4
Corvis Fear vs. Malcolm Sunshine
Malcolm Sunshine looks like Carlito and ECW era Bubba Ray Dudley procreated. Needless to say, he didn’t wrestle much better either. He was way too timid and has a really sloppy look to him. He fell off the rope after hitting a top rope uranage. He did do a cool Finlay roll and followed up with a moonsault, but other than that, I just wasn’t feeling him. Thankfully, Fear picked up a lot of the slack and had yet another great showing. Unfortunately, there’s only so much one guy can do. Kudos to you Fear for putting in a great effort. Fear picked up the win at 12:26. **1/4
Jonny Mangue vs. Nick Talent
Mangue and Talent put on a captivating back and forth contest. Talent really does have talent and got a great opportunity to showcase his abilities against Mangue. Mangue seems to get more polish every outing and is quickly rising to the top of the company. Talent and Mangue meshed really well together. Mangue caught Talent with a chokeslam powerbomb off the middle rope in the corner to score the win at 12:30. ***
Jefferson Saint vs. Anthony Stone
I loved this. The story was fantastic: Stone is Saint’s trainer. Saint’s reprehensible actions Stone feels are reflected back on him. Saint feels like Stone is just jealous since Saint has become a bigger star than he has. What do they do to resolve it? Beat the crap out of each other. And beat the crap out of each other they did. You could tell how much Saint and Stone wanted to win and at time show much they enjoyed hurting one another. When Saint slammed Stone’s back against the canvas, the face he made was brilliant. Saint used a slingshot Death Valley Driver, a move I’ve never seen before, to pick up the win at 14:03. My favorite match on the DVD so far. ***1/4
Chris Dickinson vs. Zane Silver
This match is a result of Dickinson injuring Silver at the “Keep The Steak Alive” taping. I loved the story of this match too. Dickinson beat the living snot out of Silver. He beat and wore him down for a long time. However, Silver wouldn’t stay down. He kicked out of a Dragon Suplex, he kicked out of a top rope Falcon Arrow – what would keep him down? Silver made a comeback, flipped Dickinson off, and gave him a top rope senton while Dickinson was hanging in a tree of woe. Dickinson kicked out and it seemed Silver was doomed. Silver wasn’t about to give up, and evaded a German suplex from Dickinson by rolling him into a prawn hold at 10:02. The pop Silver got was huge and just like the commentary said, it showed Dickinson wasn’t invincible. Silver being one of the top faces on the group and being able to overcome Dickinson progresses the story of Doom Patrol vs. Team Beyond and Corvis Fear quite nicely. ***1/4
Overall: This is essentially a collection of Beyond matches with little storyline progression outside of the two main events. However, for a collection of matches, it’s a very enjoyable watch. All the four ways, the Williams triple threat match, and the final two matches all delivered in some appreciable way. I’m also forgiving of the little storyline progression since this wasn’t intended for DVD release originally. The DVD is not out yet, but will be soon on Beyond Wrestling’s official website. and Smart Mark Video soon, so be on the look out!
As far as a recommendation goes, it’s hard to recommend this over the past couple of Beyond DVD’s. However, I absolutely do believe it is worth your time to at least check out the matches on YouTube. Because of that, I have all the matches to their corresponding listing on this review. For example, if you click on Chris Dickinson vs. Zane Silver, you will be directed to the match on YouTube. Be sure to check these matches out here, and pick up the DVD if you find yourself loving Beyond Wrestling after watching some of their other releases.
