Not that good of a match. The ending definitely took away from it, but it just sort of seemed all over the place. Brian Cage continued to look impressive at least. It floors me that WWE let him go. *3/4

Aries puts over the accomplishments of Colt Cabana, Willie Mack, and Scorpio Sky. They need to regroup and take a step back and reevaluate, which is something they have to do on their own. Winner: Austin Aries in 9:43 via Brainbuster
Good main event here. Not quite as great as I had hoped considering the two involved, but definitely good stuff. Mack is just so impressive. I look at him as being the closest thing to a Samoa Joe type that we will get on the independent scene today. Aries was on point to with some great heelwork. I would LOVE to see these two have a match again. ***1/4

OVERALL
Not a great episode this week, but certainly not bad. The first 3 matches did not offer much in terms of quality, but we at least got a new stable formed plus a main event set up for the following show. The delaying of the Scorpio/Aries match will likely help the heat of the match, and it resulted in a good match between Mack and Aries. Their match is the main thing to go out of your way to watch on the show, but certainly not a bad episode.

  1. I agree that Mack is the closest thing we have on the indies today to Samoa Joe, but their in-ring styles are a little too different to truly compare the two. Joe has that mma-type shoot style mixed with power moves and speed, where as Mack, to me, fits more into the Hugh Morris/Vader type. He’s a big guy capable of some big time power moves, but he’s got that surprising agility and speed that both Vader and DeMott would have killed for in their primes. I really hope Mack stays around for a while. I haven’t seen much of him, but for what it’s worth, I am a Willie Mack mark.
