Mike masters continues to berate and blame Kevin Hunsperger for his losing streak, causing many to ask how much can Hunsperger take from Masters? “Old School Warrior” Ax Allwardt takes on a returning Joey O’Riley and the main event will see Christian Rose take on Heath Hatton, one half the of tag team champions.
The show gets right to the action from the get go…
“Golden Boy” Greg Anthony
Vs.
Farmer Billy Hills
Recap: After effectively dumping his partner, “Serial Thriller” Shane Rich, 2 weeks before Anthony is set to make a name for himself in singles matches. Farmer Billy Hills is a big man with a big, fun attitude.
Review: The match starts off with the men locking up and Hills sending Anthony into the corner. The two men lock up again with the same outcome. Hills begins to play to the crowd getting them going before Anthony gets him into a side headlock and begins taunting the crowd. The men begin arguing back and forth before Farmer asking for a hand lock strength test. Anthony slaps Hills, with the outcome being a fore arm to the head knocking Anthony to the mat. Farner Billy then gets “Golden Boy” up sending him into the corners before attempting a body slam, which Anthony blocks by grabbing the top rope and racking the eyes of Hills. Anthony mounts the second rope above Hills and begins beating on him before biting into his forehead the raking Hills eyes across the top rope. Anthony begins giving Hills one punch after another knocking him down and getting a 2 count. Anthony keeps the advantage by pounding on Hills with punch after punch and repeated dirty tricks. Getting Hills down on the mat Anthony locks in a sleeper hold from behind before Hills gets to his feet and breaks the hold with a jaw breaker. Anthony then executes a near perfect drop kick taking Hills to the mat again. The men begin trading punches back and forth before Hill delivers several elbow drops. After a double axe handle from the 2nd rope Hills gets a 2 count on Anthony. Hills locks in a nelson, which Anthony breaks by delivering a mule kick. Anthony then delivers “The Midas Touch”, a modified stunner, to get the win.
We then see Chris Hagstrom and Kevin Hunsperger, who talk about the Jan 14 “AAPW Main Event”. The stipulation put on “Old School Warrior” Ax Allwardt and Edmund “Livewire” McGuire. “The Masterpiece” Mike Masters then makes his way out taunting and screaming at the crowd. Masters then makes his way over to the announce table and begins berating Hunsperger about a previous incident when Kevin hit Masters in the back with a chair. The two men go back and forth before Jay Spade makes his way out confronting Masters and challenging him to a match, which Masters accepts.
“The Masterpiece” Mike Masters
Vs.
Jay Spade
Recap: This is an impromptu match with the stipulation that if Spade wins, Masters leaves Hunsperger alone. On the other hand if Masters wins, then Hunsperger has to get in the ring and take him on at the Main Event show Jan 14th.
Review: Masters gets the jump on Spade beating him down before they ever get a ref out too ring the bell. Masters throws Spade into the ring and follows him in after taunting Hunsperger some more. Masters attempts to go after Spade once in the ring, but walks into a drop toe hold into the bottom turn buckle. Spade quickly seizes the opportunity to go on the attack and delivers a body slam to Masters followed by a drop kick. Masters quickly leaves the ring to buy some time to recompose. Jay Spade follows Masters out with a plancha over the top rope taking him down again. Jay rolls back into the ring and the ref begins the 10-Count on Masters. Masters jumps into the ring to break the count andbegins taunting the crowd yet again. Spade climbs to the top rope and attempts a double axe handle off the rope only for masters to kick him in the gut as he comes down. Masters then takes over pounding on Spade with punch after punch. Masters gets Spade on his shoulder and attempts to drive him into the ring post, only to have Spade slide off and shove Masters into it. The match moves back into the ring where Masters takes over beating on Spade. Masters attempts a pin only to get a 2 count, after which he begins choking Spade. After a suplex to Spade, Masters attempts a series of pins only to get 2 counts on both. Spade attempts to mount a come-back by delivering a drop kick to Masters, only to have Masters once again take over by repeatedly kicking Spade’s thigh. The two men go back and forth with chops and punches in the corner only to have Masters give Spade a thumb to the eye to end the exchange. This sees Masters back on the attack and attempting a very non chalant cover after a leg drop. After several more back and forrths and attempted pins by each man, Masters gets the pin and the 1-2-3 by holding onto the ropes. This means that not only has Mike Masters won his first match since Collision began, but he now gets Hunsperger in the ring at “Main Event”.
“Old School Warrior” Ax Allwardt with Gaylord Stevens
Vs.
Joey O’Riley
Review: This serves as a warm up match for Allwardt, who will take on the AAPW Champion Edmund “Livewire” McGuire at Main Event. Things have come to a boil between the 2 men and will finally come to a head on Jan 14th. It also serves as a return match for Joey O’Riley.
Review: The match begins with O’Riley going right after Allwardt with a series of take downs and getting Ax in a side head lock. Ax breaks the headlock and the 2 go back to their feet with Ax taking over the attack. After a float over take down O’Riley gets a 2 count, but isn’t able to keep Allwardt down for the 3. Ax attempts to go back on the attack, but is quickly thwarted by a kick to the head which takes Ax to the outside of the ring. Joey attempts a move of the ring apron, but stops in mid move and lands on his feet on the outside; only to be hit by a huge clothes line from Ax. Allwardt goes back on the attack staying in charge of the action. After a big time suplex to O’Riley, Ax tries to take Joey down only to have O’Riley hit him with a pair of hurricanranas and a standing moon sault to get the 2 count. Joey attempts a drop kick off the rope only to have Allwardt block it and take Joey up for the Pile driver and the 1-2-3.
After the match it cuts over to the champion Edmund “Livewire” McGuire, who has come out to make sure the duo of Allwardt and Stevens doesn’t attempt to do anymore damage to an already down Joey O’Riley. After some back and forth between McGuire and Allwardt, the champ gives Gaylord Stevens a HUGE Super Kick to take him out. After helping him back to his feet, McGuire gives Stevens another Super Kick for good measure in return for the attack on K.C. Jackson on an earlier episode of Collision. He then begins beating on Gaylord Stevens with his own umbrella only to deliver a 3rd Super Kick to Stevens as he gets to his feet, knocking him to the floor where Allwardt comes to the rescue of Gaylord Stevens.
Christian Rose
Vs.
Heath Hatton w/ Curly
Recap: Hatton is easily one of the more popular stars in AAPW and always brings it in every match. Christian Rose is an awesome talent, making his way quickly up the ranks. The 2 men’s wrestling styles are very similar as well as both being built pretty similar.
Review: The match starts off with Rose taking Hatton to the mat with a waist lock. After a test of strength, Rose uses a cheap shot to take Hatton to the mat. The 2 men reverse with Hatton getting the upper hand. After getting back to their feet, Rose turns Hatton around using his own arms in a modified Cobra Clutch. The match goes back and forth between the 2 men with both getting take down after take down. Rose goes out to the floor, but comes back in after a 5 count. He takes Hatton down in a front face lock, which Hatton works out of back to his feet. Christian attempts a drop kick only to have Hatton dodge it and deliver his own Drop Kick. The match break down into a shoving match between the 2 with Rose stomping Hatton’s feet. Hatton goes to the second rope for an attempted move only to have Rose grab his foot and yank him off and half way across the ring. At this point Rose is in full control of the match giving Hatton a beating. After taking a beating from Rose for several minutes, Hatton comes back sending Rose into the corner followed by several shoulder blocks. Rose regains control of the match working on Hatton’s neck. Hatton attempts a comeback only to run into a boot from Rose and an attempted 3 count only to get the 2. Rose attempts a Swanton Bomb, but doesn’t get the full affect. Hatton takes down Rose with a discus clothes line and a neck breaker for the 2 count. The 2 men go back outside and battle back and forth with Hatton being thrown into the ring post. At this point “Playboy” Paul Rose comes out and interferes in the match attacking Curly. Christian Rose and Playboy take Hatton and Curly back into the ring and quickly leave the 2 men laying out cold and celebrating with the belts.
Another episode of Collision ends on an unexpected note. Since the motorcycle accident put “Serial Thriller” Shane Rich on the shelf and his team with “Golden Boy” Greg Anthony imploded, there hasn’t been #1 Contenders for the tag titles. The team of Christian Rose and “Playboy” Paul Rose have planted themselves FIRMLY in that spot it seems like. Things are in complete Chaos leading into AAPW Main Event.
AAPW Collision is quickly coming together and the crew is learning how to put on a show. There are things that could use improvement, but I think with some time they are going to be big.
