Max Archer

Vs.

Ace Hawkins

Recap: This is the debut for Max Archer, who has wrestled in Indys all over the country. He faces off against Ace Hawkins, who was PWI 2011 Rookie of the Year. I admittedly know very little about either man so looking forward to seeing what they can do. Both men seem to be X Division style wrestlers and on the smaller side

Review:. The match starts off with thee 2 men taking turns trying to get the crowd going with Ace Hawkins being the obvious fan favorite. Hawkins get several take downs from the starts sending Archer to the outside to try and slow things down. Hawkins follows Archer outside with a splash over the top rope to the outside. The match moves back inside the ring with Archer taking short cuts to take things his way. Archer continues taking short cuts to keep things going his way while Hawkins does his best to mount a comeback. Archer seems to be in complete control throughout the match and gets a 2 count after a scoop slam to Hawkins. Hawkins attempts a flying cross body block from the top rope which Archer rolls through and gets a 2 count off of. Archer again takes over and continues working on Hawkins back to keep him grounded. Hawkins again attempts a comeback which seems to go his way for several minutes. Hawkins attempts a high flying move which Archer ducks under and escapes. After several clothes lines Hawkins sends Archer into the corner where he nails a cross body block to Archers midsection through the ropes. Hawkins goes up top and drives Archer face first into the mat with a modified diving stunner and gets the 3 count for the win.

“Playboy” Paul Rose

Vs.

Farmer Billy Hills

Recap: This serves as a rematch from several weeks back. Both men are on the larger side of things and tend to use a lot of size oriented moves.

Review: The match starts off with both men playing to the crowd before Rose attacks Hills from behind. Rose begins to deliver punches to Hills in the corner before sending him into the opposite corner. Rose then sends Hills across the ring into the far corner and attempts to deliver an Avalanche, but Hills moves out of the way avoiding contact. As Rose lays across the top turn buckle Hills delivers several kicks to the mid-section of Rose, who ends up straddling the top rope. Hills takes advantage of Rose’s precarious position and bounces the rope several times splitting Rose’s yam bags to borrow a phrase from Taz from TNA. Rose rolls out of the ring to regain his composure, but Hills follows him out. Hills spins “Playboy” around only to take several kicks to the gut. Rose throws Hills against the ring post and attempts a kick which goes wrong once again splitting Playboy’s yam bags. The match moves back into the ring where it goes back and forth before Paul Rose gains control through taking his usual short cuts. Rose gets a 2 count after being in control for several minutes. Hills attempts a come-back only to have Rose stop it before he gets going good. Rose again takes control and stacks Hills in the corner for several splashes and a snap take over. Rose gets Hills in a sleeper hold which begins to take the life out of Hills. Hills attempts a come back and gets a 2 count off of a double ax handle from the second rope. Rose blocks one sit down full nelson power bomb before Hills locks it in and gets the power bomb and the 3 count for the win.

The main event of “3G” Eric Wayne Vs. Colt Cabana is not available online, but will be on the DVD release for “Main Event”.

All in all a good show. The 2 matches were fairly well planned out and evenly matched. I love watching Billy Hills because he reminds me of Hillbilly Jim, who also hails from the same hometown of Mudlick, Ky.
