-It’s the show that only comes once per month! This is the second ever episode of Resistance Pro’s television show. It’s like a digest version of their DVDs meant to promote upcoming shows and allow fans to keep up with the product. So let’s see what they’ve got in store for us this time around.

-Zach Thompson begins by talking about the most recent event, Taken by Force. He summarizes the attack on Nikki St. John and the advancement in the tag team tournament. Then they transition into a conversation about the Jessi Corgan angle. Yes, they’re starting off their one hour of television a month with this. I’ve already commented on this angle extensively and have nothing further to say.  If you are interested in what I have to say, please check out my live recap of the show. Out of respect for the talent, I will take some time to review the actual match.

-Serenity vs. Ashton Vuitton

Whatever negative I can say about this angle, Vuitton’s name really resembles his character well. We begin with Vuitton toying around with Serenity as a crawl advertises the next show. Well, at least we haven’t spoiled anything yet. A lot of clunkiness and awkwardness as Serenity executes a crucifix pin. Her offense doesn’t last long. Serenity gets a facebuster. Jessi Corgan tosses her down. Vuitton hits a sitdown powerbomb and gets the victory. This was not very good. Amazingly, this was better than the post match promo. Want to hear a good silence? Watch this whole angle.

-Winner (s)/Time/Rating: Ashton Vuitton/4:43/*

-Jocephus says a really nasty message toward the Resistance Pro fans. Wonder if he kisses his mother with that mouth… sheesh. This is actually the beginning of the :Fair Warning” (Resistance Pro’s next show) advertisement.

-ACH lets us know we’re watching Resistance Pro wrestling as he comes out of the bathroom. Ooooooooooooooookay. There’s a lot of jokes to be made, but I’ll leave this one alone.

-Zach Thompson explains what’s been going on with Harry Smith. The Raven turn from A Small Deadly Space is shown. Then we see Harry Smith stretch out poor Kyle Matthews. After beating him up for a long time, ACH finally comes out for the save. Naturally, this leads to…

Harry Smith (Resistance Pro champion)(w/Lou D’Angeli) vs. ACH

ACH sends Smith out of the ring very quickly to get the champion’s attention. Series of kicks by ACH. Powerslam by Smith. Backbreaker. Stomps and choking from the champion. Slingshot into the bottom rope. Choking in the corner next. Missile dropkick off the top rope. Headbutt to the midsection. Suplex countered as ACH ends up on the apron. Big boot sends ACH to the floor. ACH slammed to the guard rail. Chinlock and Smith feigns ACH tapping in a great heel move. Can’t believe I’ve never seen that before. Back-to-back jawbreakers by ACH. Forearms and ACH is again sent outside. Superkick sends ACH down on the entrance way. Quick vertical suplex back inside. Camel clutch. Snap suplex. Top rope leg drop misses. Dropkick and step-up enziguri by ACH. Hard kickout. Smith crotches ACH and delivers a forearm. Powerslam countered into an O’Connor roll. Low dropkick. Double boots to the back. Kick to the knee. Bulldog blocked and Smith hits a forearm. Sitdown powerbomb only gets two. He rolls into the cross armbreaker. ACH taps. Well, if there’s one thing both Chicago companies that have used ACH have in common, it’s that they’ve used ACH very poorly. He’s an exciting wrestler. Put him in the ring with other exciting wrestlers. ACH was made to look like a borderline jobber here (and in his match with Mason Beck).  ACH is going to be one of the biggest stars in indy wrestling very soon, and I get the sense people will look back on these matches and wonder what happened. This wasn’t a bad match by any means but too short to mean anything, and the crowd never seemed to buy for a second that ACH had a chance.

-Harry Smith lets us know we’re watching Resistance Pro, but he’s not in a bathroom.

-We get an examination of the Robert Anthony/Jay Bradley situation. Bradley talks about knocking people down and beating people as a montage of his destruction is shown. Cut to Taken by Force as Anthony continues the barrage of talking that was on this show. He says he’s the number one contender because he’s undefeated. Anthony says he’s going to be serious. Why so serious? And since this is the main event… we get a graphic.

Bradley hits an IMMEDIATE release German suplex off the top rope. Good gravy. The shirt comes off, and Bradley is angry. Pair of armdrags into an armbar by Anthony. Off the ropes with a knee by Bradley. Headlock by Anthony and he fires a pair of shots at the head. Rolling headlock and more shots to the head. Short whip to the corner. Boot and elbow out of the corner. Anthony grabs his head again. Back suplex by Bradley. Again to the headlock by Anthony. Bradley tosses him outside of the ring. Anthony lands on his feet. Bradley attempts a dive but gets caught with an elbow. Plancha to the floor. Leaping clothesline by Anthony. Gordbuster into the ropes by Bradley. Gorilla press slam to the floor. Bradley yells in Billy Corgan’s face and scares a young child. Amazing. Into the crowd they go. They take a tour of the building, and the camera quality noticeably drop for a brief moment. Woof. Clubbering blow to the back by Bradley as they go back near ringside. Charging forearm into the back gets two. Knee strikes to the head. More strikes but Anthony slowly comes back. Anthony placed on the apron. Blows from Bradley. Body scissors. He grabs a sleep next. Elbows to the knee by Anthony. Whip to the corner. Boot by Anthony and a missile dropkick. He sells his injured ribs. Anthony kicks as Bradley chops. Lariat met with a kick. Rolling death valley driver gets two for Anthony. Bradley slams Anthony in a version of the Snowplow. Anthony hits a powerbomb out of the corner and applies a Boston crab. Bradley gets a roll-up for two. Pair of boots still doesn’t the match. Anthony hits a vertebreaker and bridges over for two. Great nearfall. Twisting moonsault misses. Bradley has the lariat blocked again with a kick. Another kick. Series of counters. LARIAT! Bradley picks up the victory and becomes the number one contender for the R-Pro heavyweight championship. This was a very good main event that capped the show off really well. Lots of fun back and forth action from two very underrated pros.

-Winner (s)/Time/Rating: Jay Bradley/17:45/***1/2

-Harry Smith comes back out to brawl Bradley. Kyle Matthews joins in for a beatdown of Bradley. Smith even beats up Matthews for fun once again.  Dug the match. Didn’t like the post-match nearly as much.

-Lou D’Angeli talks garbage at Jay Bradley. Smith says he’s new and improved.

-Zach Thompson talks up the upcoming show once again as John Morrison will be making his debut while Jay Bradley will challenge for the heavyweight championship.

Final Thoughts: The first half of this show wasn’t anything special, but the main event makes this a thumbs up show for me. Bradley and Anthony delivered a great contest. A fine way to spend 20 minutes.
