PWX returned to Tremont on the heels of an awesome show just last month. PWX champion Caleb Konley reformed 7OH!4 with Cedric Alexander to take on the returning Briscoe Brothers, new ROH champion Jayb& his brother Mark. ‘Shenanigans’ saw a bounty placed on the head of Zane Riley by “Manager Extraordinaire” Joey Nuggs, Some new faces in the PWX ring & former 5 time Impact Wrestling Knockouts champ Angelina Love. Lets take a look at fill results & thoughts from PWX Shenanigans. The following is….

“The Southern Savior” John Skyler & Chase Brown vs Worst Case Scenario- Ethan Case & Eli Evans
The tag team division is heating up with the Dojo Bros(Roderick Strong & Eddie Edwards) recently being stripped of the tag titles & a new innovative tag tournament coming soon. Two teams possibly looking to get a shot at those titles are Worst Case Scenario & first time pairing of Skyler & Brown. Chase & Skyler began the match showing excellent teamwork. Tagging in & out & controlling the early going. Case & Evans have a familiarity which allowed them to sustain & turn the tide of the match. But, In the end the first time partners picked up a big win as Skyler pinned Evans with “Sliced Bread”
#1MansOpinion: Both teams were impressive here. Skyler is one of the most all around gifted talents on the Indy scene & Chase Brown, while lesser known employs a “Catch” style not seen a lot & is very crisp & entertaining. Worst Case Scenario, while still young are a throwback to old school tag wrestling employing great double teams  & teamwork. Evans & Case could make serious waves in the tag team division in the future. ** 3/4
Joey Nuggs $1000 Bounty Challenge
Zane Riley vs ????????
The manager extraordinaire made his way to the ring holding a briefcase adorned with his mug on a $100 bill. Also Nuggs had a surprise, former “man creature”  of Pro Wrestling EVO’s Cirkus CIRCO made his return!! Zane Riley immediately took offense to this new bounty on his head, rushing the ring & the fight spilled to the outside. CIRCO threw Zane into the first row & hit a brutal cannonball leaving chairs strewn everywhere! Back in the ring, CIRCO continued the assault until the “Party Manimal” took his opponent to the outside, grabbed a beer spitting it at CIRCO & of course enjoying some himself. There was no stopping Riley who always has the ruckus crowd behind him as he finished off CIRCO with a cannonball  & turned back the first challenger to try & cash in on Nuggs bounty.

#1MansOpinion: This was a fun, & intense brawl. The return of CIRCO was a welcome surprise & the bounty adds intrigue to another possible run in between Zane & The Wildman Kongo in the future. Until then, I’m sure Nuggs has plenty of guys who will try to claim the $1000 to take out The Party Manimal. ***
Guillotine LeGrande vs Smith James

Another new face & perhaps new group made their way to the ring next. Guillotine LeGrande accompanied by Skyler & Chase Brown came out to call out “Mr # 1” George South, LeGrande seems hell bent on settling a score with South but instead Smith James answered the challenge. James used his power & speed to make a comeback after being jumped my Guillotine to begin the match. LeGrande is a throwback & used that experience to get a submission victory with a guillotine cobra clutch.
#1MansOpinion: There wasnt a lot to this matchup. LeGrande calling out George South (who is somewhat of a local legend) was unexpected & I look forward to seeing what their grudge is about. LeGrande was really good on the mic & very old school in the ring. James has potential & a nice look. It’s always great to see PWX keeping things fresh & surprising their audience. **

“The Ice Queen” Amber O’ Neal vs Angelina Love

Former 5 time knockouts champion Angelina Love made her PWX debut next against one of the best women’s talents to come out of the Carolinas, Amber O’Neal. Amber got the early advantage pulling Love’s hair & using any underhanded trick to gain momentum. The Charlotte crowd was fully behind the former Impact champ who battled back & got a couple of near falls before Amber again took any shortcut she could & began wearing her opponent down.  Love would not quit & fought Back hitting a DDT for a Nearfall. O’Neal’s opponent Amanda Rodriguez who had been watching the action finally could watch no longer & alerted referee Mitch Blalock but this allowed O’Neal to use a foreign object & pick up the pin. Rodriguez insisted there were indeed ‘Shenanigans’ & The Ice Queen’s celebration was short lived as the object was found & Love was given the DQ victory.

#1MansOpinion: This was a really good women’s match between two talented ladies. One of the better I’ve seen live, everything worked start to finish & the crowd really livened up for this one more than a lot of other things on the card. It appears the new feud between Amber & Amanda is nowhere near complete as the veteran intends to show Amanda She’s out of her league, while Rodriguez is looking to make the first impact of her young career. ** 3/4

Corey Hollis vs Chiva Kid
Next up was a battle between two guys who have been lighting the Indy scene on fire the last several months. Including the two having an excellent time limit draw just a few months back. Expectations were high for this rematch & Hollis & Chiva delivered another ‘must see’ matchup. There was so much action in this one I could never do it justice in recapping the efforts of both these talents. In the end Hollis dealt Chiva his first loss in Charlotte after taking his mask & using the distraction to put the “Goat Boy” away(for good ) with a devastating spinning back elbow. Everett(Chiva) reminded Hollis that he may have took his mask but they’re even now & challenged the “Country Jacked” Hollis one more time, this time for the prized PWI International Ultra J title.  Do yourself a favor and pick this up at highspots.com when it’s available.

#1MansOpinion: This is a case where my opinion coincides with the majority. On a show with a great main event, good women’s action & more Chiva & Hollis once again made every effort to steal the show. Hollis withstood each innovative aerial assault of Chiva & responded with hard hitting, innovative offense of his own. Local fans are familiar that Chiva(Now Andrew Everett) is in a transition yet that didnt take away from the intensity of this match or the finish. A rematch likely for the Ultra J title is on the horizon & these two have proven multiple times they can & will deliver. I look forward to another battle. Once you think you’ve seen it all from these two they’re guaranteed to impress you again. ****

Next was the 2nd edition of Live w/ Steve Corino. This month his guest was Joey Nuggs who explained The bounty on Zane Riley. Nuggs said Kongo was training & you never know when he may show up but until then the money is up for grabs. Corino inquired about how he may try to claim the bounty & Nuggs obliged but warned anyone who isn’t successful may incur the wrath of Kongo themselves.

“Mr. Elite” Drew Myers vs “Manscout” Jake Manning

Mr Elite Drew Myers came out & took the opportunity to harass a fan who just proposed to his girlfriend at intermission. Myers ran the man down for being cliched & switched focus to his favorite subject: HIMSELF Myers said he’s been overlooked far too long & is ready to make a statement, The Manscout Jake Manning came out & was happy to oblige his former student whom he gave the name Mr Elite. Manning spoke briefly about making an impact & said Grizzly is now gone so its time for him to make his own. Myers had second thoughts but jumped Manning from behind & the match was on. This was back & forth from start to finish with the student punishing his trainer & finding out just how resilient the man who broke him in the business can be. Manning withstood Mr Elite’s superior mat wrestling and impressive suplexes. In the end Manning caught Elite coming through the ropes, dead lifting him with a picture perfect Piledriver to get the win.

#1MansOpinion: Another really good match. Myers has been one of my favorite talents to watch for the last six months & is really starting to get some opportunity to shine. With a combination of great physique, excellent mic work & always improving in ring work I’ve always known there was potential to do big things. Manning is obviously one of the better talents in PWX & certainly a crowd favorite. Should be interesting to see what is in store for The Manscout in singles action. *** 1/4
ITV Title Match

“Do or Die” Chip Day(c) vs Adam Page
Innovative TV Title Rules

-10 minute time limit
-Title CAN change on Countout or DQ
-If a draw occurs, the challenger receives a rematch at his leisure.
Day was riding the momentum of defeating inaugural champion Cedric Alexander just weeks before in South Boston Virginia & his first title defense would be no easier with Adam Page. Page lost out on his shot to compete in the battle royal in March to claim the first ITV champ due to breaking his nose earlier in the night. Page & Day used every bit of the 10 minute time limit battling back & forth with the title nearly changing on several occasions. To Day’s credit he didn’t lay back & let the time limit run out, he gave as much punishment as he took from the Tobacco Pullin’ talented youngster from Aaron’s Creek Virginia. Day picked up the win with a roundhouse kick & proved he has what it takes to be the ITV champion for a long time to come.

#1MansOpinion: I really like the rules for the ITV title & think it can really highlight the expansive talent in PWX. And more importantly showcase WRESTLING. Day & Page are two of the best &  I’m sure  the line of contenders will only increase to challenge for the championship. *** 1/4

Team 7OH!4 (PWX champion Caleb Konley & Cedric Alexander) vs The Briscoe Bros w/ Uncle Jethro
This main event delivered start to finish & capped off another great night of PWX Wrestling. Again I urge you to go out of your way to check this one out as I couldn’t possibly do justice to all the action. Team 7OH!4 hadn’t teamed up in months & had no trouble hanging in with the 8 time ROH tag champs. We saw everything from Redneck Kung Fu, to Alexander’s vicious kicks, to the always expanding & explosive offense of the PWX champion. In the end, it was a miscue from Team 7OH!4 as Alexander landed Kick 2 Kill on his partner who was pinned with the Doomsday Device as Dem Boys picked up the win.

#1MansOpinion: Team 7OH!4 looked impressive reforming to face arguably  one of the best tag teams in wrestling today. One miscue was the difference here, but this match in no way disappointed. Both teams whether it be singles or tag action are always big draws in the area & always deliver. *** 1/2
#1MansFINALOpinion: PWX did it again! This promotion never fails to deliver the top local talent combined with stars of Ring of Honor to ensure the crowd gets their money’s worth & more! Add to that the expanding roster & new storylines, innovative championships & a resurgent  tag  team division & you should NOT be missing out on YOUR Premiere Wrestling Xperience!
Overall: 7/10
