PWX returned worldwide to Internet Pay Per-View on June 29th for ‘It’s all about Me’ Well over 200 fans came out to Concord, NC for this big show headlined by a steel cage match for the PWX Championship and were treated to arguably one of the best 3 way matches you will see on an indy show this year. We’ll take a full look at this successful return to ippv and look ahead at July’s next huge event. As always, The following is….

#1MansOpinion

Pre-Show Match
Zane Dawson def Chase Brown with a lariat
The monster Zane Dawson arrived in his PWX debut & though not on the live ippv this time, he did just what he said he would..DOMINATE! Chase Brown had a lot of crowd support and as always did not back down but in the end Dawson said it best himself, leaving the ring yelling “Didn’t I tell you?!?”
#1MansOpinion: This was a nice opener between two guys with different styles, both trying to leave their marks in the premiere Indy promotion of the Southeast. Brown continues to look impressive but can’t quite break through while Zane Dawson indeed did what he said he would and I encourage the roster to take notice. I foresee both men playing a part in the future of PWX. ** 1/4
Zane Riley def Billy Brash w/ a death valley driver
The live ippv kicked off with another match between two opposites. The cocky, bitter, and hate filled, South Carolinian Billy Brash taking on the exciting, beer loving, party Manimal Zane Riley. Brash & Zane wasted  no time in brawling all around ringside(after spitting beer into each others faces) and this fight was on! Brash controlled early but Riley responded & hit his signature cannonball & Death Valley Driver to pick up the win kicking off the biggest show of the Summer.

#1MansOpinion: Zane is without a doubt one of the favorites each PWX show and he has done well for himself recently. There was little to no mention in the arena of Joey Nuggs or his ever growing bounty on Riley’s head so we have to wonder. Who is next to try & take out The Party Manimal? Billy Brash as I mentioned earlier, has a mean streak and looked good in this one as well, should Brash make the trip up to PWX more often I’m sure he’ll find plenty of fights to pick with the talents of PWX. ** 3/4
Kyle O’Reilly def “Mr Elite” Drew Myers via submission to the cross arm breaker
EliteOReilly                                                                                      Photos Courtesy: Adrian Rohr
EliteBelly2Belly
O’Reilly was in a partying mood himself at the ippv, wearing a jean jacket, shades, bandana and being announced straight from 1983. Mr Elite was focused on proving a point, and after running down his credentials, he mentioned being pinned the previous month by Amanda Rodriguez, and how he would more than make up for that tonight. Elite was impressive in one of his first tests with a world class athlete like Kyle O’Reilly, but his vindication would have to wait. O’Reilly & Myers exchanged some excellent amateur wrestling, O’Reilly then focused on his excellent submission game, but Elite countered with his strong suplexes. After escaping the cross arm breaker once, the more experienced O’Reilly went back to it & forced Myers to tap out.
#1MansOpinion: O’Reilly had fun with his 80s rocker gimmick in his second consecutive PWX appearance. That didnt take away from the technical precision and MMA skill that he brings to each match. Mr Elite asked for more top tier competition and he got it. Myers looked very good against his toughest opponent to date and continues to elevate himself in PWX as he tries to erase the embarrassing loss to Amanda Rodriguez at ‘Hunt for Gold’ last month. *** 1/2
Amber O’Neal & Santana Garrett def Amy Love & Amanda Rodriguez when Garrett pins Love after a handstand springboard moonsault.
The WOW tag champs The All- American Girls(O’Neal & Garrett) looked great here & dominated most of the match in route to victory. Love & Rodriguez partnership did not work out as well, the chemistry wasn’t there and O’Neal & Garrett isolated Amanda, utilizing quick tags and double team moves to their advantage.

#1MansOpinion: O’Neal & Garrett looked picture perfect in this match & showed why they are the reigning WOW tag champions. Rodriguez who was very impressive at the previous show looked to have a rough night in the ring & Love was good when she got in the ring but the two first time partners couldn’t keep up with the veteran All-American Girls. **
iTV Championship
Chip Day (c)  def Trevor Lee & Corey Hollis when  Day retained by pinning Trevor Lee w/ a roundhouse kick.
3wayITV
Suspended PWX talent Corey Hollis interjected himself into the match as it was about to get started.  Trevor Lee did not like the idea of expanding the match, but Chip said he would defend against anyone and the match was on! This was a must see!! From the opening to the finish all 3 went full speed ahead, The Former Generation Kill partners had no allegiance as Lee & Hollis went after the champ but that didnt last long as it broke down between all three. Both Hollis & Lee nearly left with the title but the 10 minute time limit expired. Under Innovative TV championship rules, each man receives a rematch at anytime and both chose right then and there and the match was restarted!! Lee hit his running knee to nearly take the belt but Day broke the fall up, Hollis then had his chance but couldn’t get the three. In the end it was Chip Day retaining his title in a match that nearly stole the show!

#1MansOpinion: All three of these guys looked like stars here and the crowd was into this match the whole time. GO OUT OF YOUR WAY to see this one and get to know these three talents. ****
PWX Tag Team Championships Fatal Fourway
Jake Manning  (c) def ‘Air America'(American Tiger & Andrew Everett)  Worst Case Scenario (Eli Evans & Ethan Case) with The Tommy Thomas, & Team Ambition(Darren Dean and Aaron Solo) when Manning pinned Solo with the deadlift Piledriver
4waytag2                                                                                     Photos Courtesy: Adrian Rohr
John Skyler appeared on the video wall from England with  his tag title to tell Manning to defend the titles honorably by himself! That is just what The Manscout did. The three challenging teams did their best to keep Manning out of the ring and fought amongst themselves with Worst Case Scenario showing off their chemistry and nearly winning the titles several times. Air America came to the aid of Jake and thrilled the crowd with their high flying, but they were there to leave as tag champs too. The match broke down and Everett & Tiger dove to the outside onto Case & Evans. This left the youngest challengers Team Ambition in the ring with the veteran tag champ Manning. Jake disposed of Darren Dean and as the other four opponents were down on the floor, The Manscout hit the deadlift Piledriver on Aaron Solo for the victory.

#1MansOpinion: Welcome back tag team wrestling!! PWX tag division is looking stronger each show and there are viable contenders for the championships emerging each show. It’s not a question of if but when for Worst Case Scenario, they seem to have all the tools and advantage of their personal representative The Tommy Thomas to claim the gold. Air America is still gelling as a team but excite the crowd each time and could be dangerous in the future. Jake Manning showed with or without a partner he plans to keep his promise to defend the titles honorably. *** 1/4
1st time ever 1 on 1- Dream Match
Cedric Alexander def Jay Lethal after 2 sick kicks & 2 brain busters

JayDive
This dream match had been hyped for over a month and no one seemed more excited than Cedric Alexander. Cedric lists Lethal at the top of his list of influences and now he would meet and try to defeat that man 1 on 1. This match far exceeded its high expectations with both Cedric & Jay going 110% from start to finish. This is another MUST SEE and an early Indy MOTY candidate. The entrance way filled with PWX talents to watch these two in action, an ultimate show of respect. Fans were on their feet as Alexander and Lethal went back and forth. Cedric hit his lifting lung blower but couldn’t put Jay away. Lethal responded with the Lethal Injection but this time Alexander kicked out!! It wasn’t until Cedric hit “Kick 2 Kill” twice and two consecutive Brainbusters to pick up the huge win over Jay Lethal. As the two shook hands, the wrestlers surrounded the ring & fans chanted “Thank You Both”
#1MansOpinion: This was an amazing match!! Hard hitting, innovative offense, raw emotion this match had it all. Both men exhausted themselves to earn the victory and for the benefit of the crowd. Check this match out as soon as you can!! **** 1/2
PWX Championship Steel Cage Match
Caleb Konley (c) def Kevin Steen w/ a Cradle Death Valley Driver when guest referee Steve Corino wouldn’t count the fall for Steen.
CageMatch
This was madness from start to finish. Steen cut off the champion as he entered, slamming the cage door onto Konley’s face. Steen then brutalized Caleb all around the ring, throwing him into guard rails and even taking out both referees who tried to stop his attacks. PWX officials came out along with Steve Corino and The King of Old School was made the referee for the main event. Corino quickly got the action in the ring where the bell finally sounded to start the match and the PWX champ already looked like a beaten man. Steen continued the assault inside the cage but Konley is never one to go away easy and mounted a comeback. Konley went for the “Oh Face!” Submission early but couldn’t fully turn Steen, this gave the former ROH champ the opportunity to continue his beating of Konley and Steen hit the package Piledriver. Corino counted 1,2. then flipped off his former SCUM cohort. Steen was irate and went after Corino, Konley seized the opportunity and once again retained his PWX championship.
After the match Steen told Caleb he would be back for the title but took the time to issue a challenge to Corino. Unsanctioned, no rules it doesn’t matter. Steen said he will retire Corino for good.

#1MansOpinion: Corino vs Steen took the spotlight away from the main event a bit. While its a huge matchup that PWX fans seem to be looking forward to greatly, there was also a big rematch going on in which Caleb Konley, again retained his PWX championship in spectacular fashion. Konley continues to take on, and beat the best. Steen is always a crowd favorite and the match with Corino could be one of the craziest this year. *** 1/4
#1MansFINALOpinion: PWX shows the world that from top to bottom they had the tools & talent to outperform any other Indy show. The ITV Championship division is emerging as a must see match on PWX shows each and every month.  The revitalized tag team division is proving to be another strong asset with Jake Manning looking impressive in his partner’s absences as teams like Worst Case Scenario and Air America chase the titles. Add to that, consistent show stealing performances from Cedric Alexander & Caleb Konley against the best talents in the world and PWX is quickly becoming one of THE premiere promotions to watch.
Overall: 8.5/10
