The wrestling world was buzzing this past weekend as ROH announced officially their business relationship with New Japan Pro Wrestling. They put out this video trailer which also showcased the titles of the shows. Toronto will now be Global Wars and New York will be War of the Worlds. While ROH has only released text based logos, Tiger Hattori released the poster above on twitter (graphic taken from the Osaka NJPW poster).
There were several names that the video specifically highlighted:
IWGP Heavyweight Champion: Kazuchika Okada
IWGP Intercontinental Champion: Hiroshi Tanahashi
Shinsuke Nakamura
KUSHIDA of the Time Splitters
Jado
Gedo
Liger
Two other faces shown towards the end were former ROH Tag Champions the Forever Hooligans: Alex Koslov and Rocky Romero.
There are also reports out there stating that Karl Anderson and the Young Bucks will take part in these shows though Prince Devitt will not as he would have to have more Visa processing and that could be just time consuming on top of him stating he’s not interested in coming to the US to only work a few dates. Hopefully more will be reported on but Devitt has been the topic of a lot of conversation lately given his recent talks with TNA and hopeful contract negotiations with WWE.
