Science fiction is going to become reality.
One of the longest-running games on the market, Champions of the Galaxy, will transform from futuristic wrestling adventure to real life on July 11 in Jamestown, New York thanks to a successful crowd sourcing Kickstarter campaign.
“It’s a dream come true,” said creator Tom Filsinger. “Game fans and backers have made this possible.”
Independent professional wrestlers will appear on the wrestling card as the game’s main characters. Alex Reynolds will be iconic savage Wolf while Chuck Taylor will be evil gamemaster Thantos and Orange Cassidy as stalwart galactic hero Star Warrior. More names will be announced.
Champions of the Galaxy, a cards and dice game as well as digital game, first appeared on the market in 1986 with game expansions released every year since that time. Filsinger Games has since expanded from their fictional mainstay to include licensed card games with real wrestlers.
Champions of the Galaxy: Live Event has been planned and organized by game fans Jeff Gutherz and Todd Joerchel. The event takes place in Jamestown, New York on July 11 at newly renovated Jamestown Gateway Train Station. This historic wrestling show coincides with the annual Filsinger Games convention, GalactiCon, which takes place the same weekend.
