The Xperience’ PWX TV Episode 32
Air Date: 4/12/14

PWX TV opens this week with Heavyweight Champion Caleb Konley’s demands for his former friend and tag partner Cedric Alexander. Konley runs down his list of challengers, whom Alexander must defeat before getting another shot at the PWX Championship. First was Cedric’s friend “The King of Swerve” Shane Strickland, highlights are shown of Alexander defeating Strickland, then Konley challenges his greatest foe to face his trainer and good friend ‘Manscout’ Jake Manning, again footage is shown of their great matchup from Hickory, NC where Alexander  was again victorious. The champion finishes by saying Cedric will have to wait on number 3.

The voice of PWX Chris Shore welcomes us to ‘The Xperience’ as always, and “Cauliflower” Chase Brown is on the way to the ring. Shore references Brown’s recent trouble with the ladies (as Chase has now lost to both Mia Yim and Su Yung) but also lets us know as strange as it sounds Cauliflower has had a lot of luck with the men. Patrick Price joins Chris Shore on commentary, as Brown tells the crowd that tonight he will finally “ride a man straight to Hell”

“Cauliflower” Chase Brown vs “Mr Match of the Night” Anthony Henry
Chase makes Henry play his game and wrestle the catch style to begin, as the two feel their way around their opponent, Chase hits a northern lights suplex but Henry bridges out, yet Chase retains control with a pair of armdrags. A chop battle ensues and “Cauliflower” gets the best of the exchange and Mr Match of the Night retreats to the outside, as Brown’s luck with his male opponents continues. The relative newcomer to PWX, Henry reverses the momentum on the outside of the ring, and takes it back to the ring to hit a knee to the chest, followed by a quick release powerslam for a nearfall. Henry goes for a superplex but Brown blocks it and hits a missle dropkick, but not being a high flyer, Chase takes a lot of the momentum as well. Chase & Henry both get to their feet and begin a forearm battle, Brown hits a northern lights suplex for a nearfall, gets Henry in a firemans carry, but it’s reversed and Henry hits a slingshot “zig zag” maneuver, but still cannot put away the Catch Wrestling superstar. Brown comes fighting back with a Side suplex but still can’t pin Henry. Unfortunately,  the lady problems continue for Chase Brown as a female fan gets up on the ring apron and Henry takes advantage running his opponent into the turnbuckle and hitting an Electric Chair Driver to pick up the win. Mr Match of the Night wasn’t settling for just the in ring win, Henry left with the young lady who caused the distraction.

#1MansOpinion: What is going on with PWX fan favorite “Cauliflower” Chase Brown? The poor guy can’t seem to “perform” around the ladies! Very good opening match with two talented indy stars from the Carolinas, Anthony Henry rarely (if ever) produces a “bad match” and as I mentioned Chase is completely over with the PWX crowd and a very entertaining and talented guy in his own right. The fact remains while talented, Chase hasn’t had any luck in recent weeks, especially when it comes to the fairer sex.

Next Chris Shore takes a look at the “out of control” Southern Savior John Skyler. Skyler has now injured two opponents in consecutive weeks with vicious DDT’s on the stage area, first Rich Swann, then Steven Walters. Craig Veltri is backstage with The Southern Savior, and gets right to the point asking “What is wrong with you?” Veltri gets his answer, very similarly to the way Swann & Walters got theirs. In response to this question, Skyler pins Veltri to the wall and  to put it bluntly begins insanely rambling song lyrics  “there must be some way out of here, said the joker to the thief”.  Skyler goes on to say “there is no love in this world, only hate” The Southern Savior says Swann & Walters found out the hard way that he does what he says and that’s “Trample the weak” Skyler abruptly sends Veltri out of the locker room.

A recap is shown of “Cauliflower” Chase Brown’s women problems(Give this guy a break PWX!) Kiera Hogan catches up with a down and out Chase Brown backstage and he says he was blinded by the headlights of a woman’s bosom tonight and he crashed into a pit of despair. Tessa Blanchard comes into the picture and tells Brown, everything will be alright. This brings a smile or possibly confusion to his face as we go to the ring for the PWX Women’s action.

Mia Yim vs Su Yung
Corky Franks knocks the ring introductions out of the park as usual, and these two talented women are off to do battle. After a bit of a feeling out process, Mia gets the first advantage with an armdrag and Yung powders out to the outside. A bit more posturing now and Yim maintains control of the arm, again sending Su Yung back to the floor. Yim goes for a dive but pulls up short, then Su Yung coerces Yim to the ropes where she delivers a kick to the head followed by a cannonball from the apron to the outside. Su brings her opponent back to the ring and goes for two quick covers but can’t put Mia away. Su ties Mia up in the ropes and plays mindgames with her foot in her opponent’s  face. Su Yung is well in control of the match and being very vocal about it, but that’s her downfall at least for the moment as Mia hits a german suplex for a nearfall. The damage is done from Su’s earlier offense, and both women get to their feet at the same time, a closed fist battle ensues, followed by a knife edge chop battle, and then a forearm back and forth, Mia gets the advantage with a hard kick and she climbs to the top, Mia looked to be going for a moonsault but Yung catches her in the tree of woe. Su attacks Mia in the corner and goes for a very cocky pinfall only getting a two count. Su charges again in the corner but Mia locks in the tarantula, following up with a missle dropkick that is side stepped by Su Yung. Su goes for a roundhouse kick but Mia catches her in a beautiful sit out power bomb. Mia follows up with a package piledriver attempt, reversed by Su and Mia responds with a roundhouse kick of her own. Mia climbs the ropes and hits a 450 splash for the victory.

#1MansOpinion: Su Yung is very vocal and very annoying but I suppose that’s in the job description. No doubt, both of these ladies are talented in the ring and produced a good match here. If and when the rumored PWX women’s title is introduced both should be top contenders for that title.

The Tommy Thomas and Worst Case Scenario (Ethan Case & Elijah Evans IV) are up next with their I.S.E.S. infomercial. If you’re unfamiliar with I.S.E.S. (first good for you) but for those who are not informed, Tommy & WCS have formed the Independent Sports Entertainment Society. Thomas details how he’ll ensure that every part of your life is overseen and taken care of as he provides his clients with refills on water(after only one sip) and fresh squares of toilet paper. Worst Case Scenario reminds you that they are the longest reigning PWX tag team champions of all time and to follow them @ISESociety on twitter.

Back to the ring and it’s main event time, Cedric Alexander comes to the ring and will now find out who his mystery third opponent selected by PWX Champion Caleb Konley will be. The music hits and out comes PWX’s Power Couple, Caleb Konley & Amanda Rodriguez. Konley offers Cedric his congratulations and says he’s done well so far but he’s still number 2. The champion goes on to say “We all know you choke when you have to face a partner” and the music hits for Alexander’s C&C Wrestle Factory partner Caprice Coleman!

Alexander looks a bit confused but up to the challenge, the two shake hands and we’re off. Chris Shore and Patrick Price talk about the implications of this matchup, if Alexander wins he will have completed the “3 stages” put forth by the PWX Champion, however if Coleman were to get the win it would have to put him in contention for a shot at the PWX title. Alexander and Coleman obviously know one another very well, and the outset of this match shows that as neither man can get ahead of the other in a game of one upsmanship. Back from the final commercial break of the show and Caprice has control of Cedric Alexander and Coleman hits a back kick that levels the PWX #1 contender. Caprice follows up with a diving leg drop and hooks the leg for a nearfall. Cedric reverses the momentum with one of his signature moves the springboard clothesline, Alexander pulls down the elbow pad and begins an assault of strikes on his tag partner, Cedric goes for another signature, the backbreaker but Coleman avoids it but is nailed with a disaster kick for a nearfall. Caprice isn’t done yet as he pulls out a devestating cutter, both men back to their feet and engage in a striking battle, forearms, closed fists, the tag team loyalties are out the window. Alexander avoids another cutter attempt from Coleman and hits a devestating back kick, Alexander signals that it’s over, cinches Coleman up for the brainbuster and again the familiarity costs Cedric as Caprice avoids it and counters into a crossface/cobra clutch combo. Caprice goes for one of Cedric’s signatures the C.O.D. but Alexander moves out of the way and hits a nasty tossing backbreaker. Cedric Alexander follows that up with the coup de grace his brainbuster and Alexander runs the gauntlet, defeating all three hand picked opponents of Caleb Konley.   After the match Cedric and Caprice embrace one another and do the C&C pose for all the PWX fans in a show of unity.

#1MansOpinion: Yet another great main event from ‘The Xperience’ PWX TV, I’m going to begin to sound like a scratched record(is that reference dated enough for you all?) but if you don’t believe PWX delivers, check it out for yourself on their website or VIMEO. Alexander and Coleman proved they are two great talents in professional wrestling(who should’ve been ROH tag team champions, but let’s not beat that dead horse) This match was hard hitting, back and forth and as competitive as you could hope for. The obvious question now is When does Cedric Alexander get his title rematch against Caleb Konley? The answer? THIS FRIDAY APRIL 18th in Greensboro, NC! PWX presents Gate City Battle, details for this show and PWX’s next set of TV tapings directly following this column.

#1MansFINALOpinion: Here comes the scratched record once again, but another EXCELLENT episode of PWX TV. Premiere Wrestling Xperience packs so much into 1 hour of television that you can’t help but want more. 3 more very good matches this weekend and some interesting developments in stories. Cauliflower Chase Brown has a definite issue with the opposite sex, but what exactly is that issue? Is there a cure? and is Tessa Blanchard part of that cure? The women of PWX had a very good match which strenghtens the Womens divsion ahead of a possible women’s title in the future. it’s been awhile since we saw “The Ice Queen” Amber O’Neal in PWX but last we saw her she was asking for real competition and a title(which she would obviously win) I think Amber will find PWX a little more competitive and that title not as automatic as she once thought. What can you say that hasn’t already been said about Cedric Alexander? He’s one of the best “unsigned” talents in the WORLD!!! He and Caprice Coleman gave the fans a main event to remember and beating his partner in C&C Wrestle Factory provided Alexander another opportunity to (in Konley’s words) go from #2 to #1.
