The Scenic City Invitational returns in 2018! Here is some info they released on their Facebook page:
We are so thankful for the support at the 2018 Scenic City Rumble at Ooltewah High School!
We saw Corey Hollis pick up the victory and earn his spot in this year’s Scenic City Invitational tournament. We also saw Kyle Matthews overcome former WWE tag team Champion Joey Mercury, announce that he’d be retiring at the tournament in August, pick his spot as the #1 entrant in the Rumble and outlast all but one competitor in the Rumble match. Due to the respect we have for Kyle and the circumstances of Hollis’ win – which involved him hiding under the ring for the majority of the match, Kyle Matthews has also earned a spot in the 2018 tournament!
We made several announcements about upcoming events including our Invitational tournament coming back this year the first weekend of August. One of those was an event that we had believed was scheduled to take place at the Memorial Auditorium on Sunday August 5th. Unfortunately, that event will not be occuring and we apologize for the miscommunication on our part. We are committed to keeping the strong legacy of professional wrestling in this area alive and well and will continue to do that with our fundraisers at local schools.
