Crowd was approximately 175, slightly down with many of the top stars of CZW were overseas with IPW for a show on May 13th, so no Joe Gacy, MJF, The Rep., David Starr, or even Ethan Page. Rickey Shane Page was also not on the show following his loss to MJF last month at Best of the Best, seemingly leading to him trying to reclaim the tile at some point. The show was a strong effort and shows that there are a lot of talented guys on this roster.

Pre-Show: Frankie Pickard p Smiley. Eddy Blackwater of F.E.A.R. got involved against House of Gangone’s Smiley and Pickard was able to hit a DDT while Smiley was on his knees for the win. The House of Gangone crew came to ringside and Blackwater escaped through the crowd.

After the match, Maria Manic made her return to CZW. She sized up Pickard for a moment and they exchanged words. She indicated he didn’t meet her standards and laid out Pickard with a chokeslam.

Match 1: The Rascalz (Trey Miguel & Myron Reed) b Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen) after a 450 from the top. They did a ton of crazy moves.

Anthony Bennett did a promo with Anthony Cortez Haynes interviewing. He said he is better than the match we just saw and jawed with the crowd.

Match 2: Jason Cade p Brandon Kirk after a back slide drop. Kirk continues to be harassed by the Shook Crew led by Max Caster from the crowd. Kirk’s girlfriend Kasey Catal got involved from ringside, but Kirk was caught by Cade. The Shook Crew jumped Kirk after the match, but DJ Hyde made the save. While security was throwing the Shook Crew out Hyde announced that the Shook Crew will finally be allowed to wrestle in CZW on June 29th in Asbury Park. They will wrestle Kirk, Hyde, & Catal. Hyde also gave them an open invitation to come to Tournament of Death on June 9th.

Match 3: Kit Osbourne p Mitch Vallen after a curb stomp from the top while Vallen was draped over a chair for the final spot in Tournament of Death. They had a barb wire board, tacks, and staples. Conor Claxton arrived during Osbourne’s celebration and appears to be off the wagon drinking again. He gave Osbourne a double underhook tombstone through a series of chairs. Claxton apparently has it out for Osbourne in TOD.

Anthony Gangone & House of Gangone did an in ring promo. Gangone called Joe Gacy a coward. Said that he went off to England when he knew Gangone was going to be here. Gangone told Gacy that the office doesn’t want him in CZW and he should leave, never to return. Gangone was really good here, his promo work is very strong. He told Gacy that he was not allowed back in the Combat Zone.

Match 4: Dezmond Xavier p Rich Swann to become Number One Contender to the CZW World Championship. Xavier will challenge MJF for the title in Absury Park on June 29th. They did a lot of fluid stuff. They got a strong ovation. Xavier gave a nice speech about Swann afterwards and his road to redemption and how everyone deserves second chances.

After intermission, Haynes interview KC Navarro. Navarro wanted a spot in CZW and said he would wrestle anyone.

Match 5: Josh Briggs p KC Navarro after his chokeslam back stabber. Briggs got a crazy reaction.

Jimmy Rave made a surprise appearance declaring that he would be returning to CZW this year attempting to find out who was Jimmy Rave approved. A lot of people hadn’t seen Rave in a long time and his look is very different from his time as a Junior Heavyweight or even his stint in TNA.

Match 6: Mance Warner p Dan O’Hare after a lariat in a 4-Way Doors, Ladders, & Chairs Match that also included Conor Claxton and Stockade. The winner of this match got to choose their opening round stipulation in Tournament of Death. They did a lot of crazy things, including Claxton going to the back and jumping off a scaffold over the curtain.

Maven Bentley did an interview that was interrupted by BLK JEEZ. They exchanged words that eventually ended with JEEZ decking Bentley. He demanded THE REP. wrestle BLKOUT for the CZW World Tag Team Titles on July 28th when CZW returns to the Coliseum in Vorhees, NJ

Match 7: Zachary Wentz b Alex Reynolds, John Silver, and Wheeler Yuta to win the vacant CZW Wired Championship. This was an elimination match and these 4 went all out. Silver was the first eliminated in part thanks to his blood feud with former Beaver Boys partner Reynolds with a little help from Blackwater. Both Wheeler & Wentz got the pin after a series of high flying moves. Silver snapped after this and destroyed Reynolds leading to Yuta eliminating Reynolds.

At this point, Reynolds’ F.E.A.R. compatriot, Eddy Blackwater was stopped from leaving by Anthony Gangone, Bonez, Tom Juba, Smiley, the former Rembrandt Lewis of House of Gangone. They beat up Blackwater and dragged him to the back.

Wentz and Yuta went toe to toe before Wentz went on to win the CZW Wired Championship. The match was worth going out of your way to see.

CZW’s next show is Tournament of Death on June 9th in Berlin, NJ. They return to Asbury Park on Friday June 29th at House of Independents. In July, they travel to Canada for a three show CZW v. Smash tour with Smash Wrestling on July 13th through 15th. Finally, they return to the Coliseum in Vorhees on July 28th. Ticket information: https://czwtickets.ticketfly.com
