Progress Wrestling will be returning to the Alexandra Palace this Sunday September 15th for Chapter 95: Still Chasing. The site of the 2019 Super Strong Style 16 Tournament will play host to one of the biggest shows of the year for Progress Wrestling. The stacked lineup includes four championship matches, including the debut of the new championship, the Proteus Championship. The show also includes some huge returns to Progress from WWE NXT Superstars such a British Strong Style and Matt Riddle. Let’s run down this loaded card.

Progress Unified World Championship Match: WALTER (c) vs. David Starr

The 2019 Super Strong Style 16 Tournament winner David Starr was able to get through Artemis Spencer, Travis Banks and Ilja Dragunov to make it to the finals of the tournament, where he defeated Jordan Devlin to win the tournament. It was a tough road to earn this title opportunity. As for WALTER, since defeating Travis Banks last year for the championship, he has ran through all challengers. The list of the fallen include, Paul Robinson, Ilja Dragunov, Eddie Kingston, Chris Ridgeway, Shigehiro Irie, Mark Haskins, Zack Sabre Jr., Tyler Bate, Mark Andrews, Jimmy Havoc and plenty others. He defeated Trent Seven back at Chapter 88 to unify the Progress World Championship and the Progress Atlas Championship.

Starr is cashing in his title opportunity against WALTER at the biggest show of the year for Progress. This will be far from the first time these two are stepping into a ring against each other. These two men have been feuding all over the globe since 2016. The challenger is going into this match 0-12 in singles competition against the champion. WALTER is going into this match over 400 days as Progress World Champion.

This will be the 13th singles match between Starr and WALTER. Has WALTER’s time run out? Will the number 13 prove to be lucky or unlucky for Starr? Who will walk out of Alexandra Palace as the Progress Unified World Champion?

Prediction: David Starr finally defeats WALTER and becomes the new Progress Unified World Champion.

Progress Women’s Championship Match: Jordynne Grace (c) vs. Meiko Satomura

The announcement was made back in June that the 24 year veteran, Meiko Satomura will be making her Progress Wrestling debut. She would be challenging for the Progress Women’s Championship, which would be whoever was champion walking into Alexandra Palace. Grace managed to hold on to the championship and defeated all-comers. Since defeating Jinny on December 30, 2018 and capturing the Progress Women’s Championship, Grace has defended the title in promotions across the globe. She had defeated the likes of Kylie Rae, Kris Statlander and Lisa Marie Varon (fka Victoria in WWE). Grace also successfully defended her championship twice in one day at Chapter 94, against Dani Luna and Nina Samuels.

Grace is not only walking into this match as champion for over 200 days, but she has been undefeated in Progress in singles action. This Sunday, she meets her toughest challenge yet, Japanese legend Meiko Satomura. Can Grace remain Progress Women’s Champion or will Satomura break the undefeated streak of Grace and become the new Progress Women’s Champion?

Prediction: Jordynne Grace retains her championship and remains undefeated in Progress Wrestling.

Progress Tag Team Championship Match: Grizzled Young Veterans (c) vs. Aussie Open

Current Progress Tag Team Champions Grizzled Young Veterans returned to Progress after they believed that the tag team division was in ruins since they left. James Drake and Zack Gibson answered an open challenge set by Aussie Open back at Chapter 93 on July 28th. Drake and Gibson defeated the champions, to capture the tag team championships for the third time. They became the first tag team in Progress to do so. The team of Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher are looking to recapture the championships, and become three time champions themselves.

Aussie Open defeated Do Not Resuscitate at Chapter 94, earning a number one contender-ship to the titles. They’re going to have to keep up the momentum to defeat the champs, as the defending champions might be going into this match with a chip on their shoulders, having recently lost the NXT UK Tag Team Championships. Who will walk out of Alexandra Palace as Progress Tag Team Champions?

Prediction: Aussie Open become three time tag team champions.

30-Person Proteus Championship Rumble Match:

At Chapter 95, a new championship will debut in a first time ever match for Progress. There will be a 30-Person Rumble Match to determine the first ever Proteus Championship. Every 90 seconds a new competitor will enter the ring and the final person standing in the ring will be the new Progress Proteus Champion. Whoever wins the Proteus Championship can defend the championship under the rules of their choosing. Only 20 out of the 30 competitors have been announced. The list of competitors include:

  1. Spike Trivet
  2. Chuck Mambo
  3. Bill Eaver
  4. Travis Banks
  5. TK Cooper
  6. NIWA
  7. Chakara
  8. Paul Robinson
  9. Roy Johnson
  10. Dani Luna
  11. Ilja Dragunov

  15. Charlie Evans
  16. Eddie Kingston
  17. Chief Deputy Dunne
  18. Federales Santos Jr.
  19. Sugar Dunkerton
  20. Millie McKenzie

Here are some potential match stipulations for the Proteus Championship:

Prediction: I’m expecting a bunch of surprises from the 10 unannounced participants. Who wins? I’m not sure.

Moustache Mountain vs. Matt Riddle and Keith Lee

This tag team attraction match features 4 WWE Superstars making their return to a Progress ring. The former 2 time Progress Tag Team Champions, Moustache Mountain will be taking on the team of Matt Riddle and Keith Lee. Experience as a tag team will play a factor in this match. Tyler Bate and Trent Seven have been a tag team for over four years, while Riddle and Lee have teamed once in Evolve and were partners in a 6-man tag in Progress. Bate and Seven have defeated teams such as CCK, South Pacific Power Trip and Ringkampf. Will Riddle and Lee be added to the list?

Prediction: Moustache Mountain pick up the victory in this tag team showcase match.

Pete Dunne Returns to Progress

The former Progress World Champion is returning to Progress for the first time since December. Who will be his mystery opponent?

Prediction: Could someone like Jordan Devlin answer the challenge? Or do we have a major surprise in the form of a WWE Superstar? Maybe Cesaro?
