As reported by PWInsider, New York City based independent wrestler, Matt Travis has passed away following a traffic accident early Saturday morning. The Bronx native was best known on the East Coast for his work with House of Glory, CZW and GCW. Travis was only 25 years old.
NBC News reported that Travis was on a bike path coming off the Willis Avenue Bridge around 2:30am Saturday morning when a dump truck driver made an illegal u-turn. As the dump truck was turning, it struck Travis, sending him to the ground with severe body trauma. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
As of Saturday morning, no one has been arrested in connection with his death and the investigation is ongoing.
