Adam Page and Kenny Omega Def. SCU
Highlights:
- Doubles maneuvers in this match are excellent, highlights being the pop german suplex, the swinging DDT and the double cutters.
- With some close calls and near falls it’s up in the air who would win.
- The winning pinfall comes with a sense of doubt as Frankie Kazarian got his hand on the rope just as the ref counted three.
- The post-match brawl is a good guide to who stands where in the face/heel scheme of the tag team division. It also creates potential for some possible teams-ups.
Low Point:
- The rule of wrestling factions is that at some point they should pose a threat to the whole roster. When will the Dark Order do that?
Jr. Interviews Santana
Low Point:
- Santana is on the lower rungs of the Inner Circle and he’s telling an emotional story? Feels like unnecessary character development.
Darby Allin sends a message
Highlights:
- Darby has always had a creepy feeling to his video promos. the best way I can describe them is a serial killer’s home movies. Hopefully, there’s more to come.
Dustin Rhodes DEF. Sammy Guevara
Highlights:
- When someone interferes in a match the end result is usually an instant win for their opponent. Despite Hager interfering multiple times, Dustin ends up winning. A welcome change
- Despite losing the match Guevara still puts on a show and is impressive as usual.
- An overdue win against for Rhodes against Guevara and better yet it’s in his hometown
Low points:
- Dustin says that Jakes failing at his MMA career despite having zero losses.
Britt Baker interview
Highlights
- Playing to the local crowd Britt rips into the local favorite (Whataburger)
- Britt’s version of playing Heel is to explain what she does as helping. Interesting.
Low points:
- Britt could be considered a modern Issac Yankem?
Nyla Rose DEF. Riho
Highlights:
- Riho isn’t a pushover and starts the match by bringing the fight to Nyla and continues doing so throughout the match.
- Nyla has been booked as an unstoppable force but this match had Riho going down swinging.
- Riho performing a northern lights suplex *claps*
- Post-match Nyla feels like less of a beast and more of a diva. It could be an interesting change of character.
Low Points:
- Chekov’s table: if you introduce a table into the match, someone, better go through it.
Jericho Interview
Low Points:
- A new wrestler can be like Christmas morning. Exciting fills you with hope, makes you shout in joy. Why did Chris Jericho need to reveal that Jeff Cobb was coming?
- So there are five members of the Inner Circle and they still can’t stop Jon Moxley?
MJF DEF. Jungle Boy
High Points:
- Brandi has turned face following the beating. Hopefully meaning the end of the Nightmare Collective.
- MJF with the towel boy is classic. A full heel moment that just drives the hate behind his character.
- The chain wrestling sequence near the opening shows makes me hope for more matches against each other.
- Calling out the ridiculous way people on WWE watch TV
- MJF doing some acrobatics as well? interesting
- Can we get Wardlow VS. Luhcasauraus?
PAC promo video
Highlights:
- Pac’s promo video is well shot and the use of black and white is unsettling
- His obsession with Kenny is a refreshing angle.
Jon Moxley DEF. Santana
High Points:
- The opening brawl in the crowd fit Satana and Moxley perfectly.
- A referee that isn’t blind!
- Sanatana and Moxley are both brawlers their styles work together and fit very well.
Low Point:
- Jeff Cobb should have been kept hidden till the end of the night.
- A missed opportunity: Having a no holds barred match.
- Okay this eye thing is getting a little silly.
- Again Moxley gets assaulted post-match. You think by this point he’d have smartened up.
