Fightful is reporting the following after several AEW wrestlers were pulled from WrestleCon events:

On Feb. 12, WrestleCon updated their Detailed Talent Schedule to quietly note that AEW canceled the appearances of Sammy Guevara and Darby Allin. Both men were cleared by AEW to appear at the convention, which runs April 2-5 in Tampa, FL, according to WrestleCon.

Orange Cassidy, Nyla Rose, and Kris Statlander were cleared by AEW to appear. Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho were booked through Barry Bloom Talent Agency, which supersedes AEW, while Jon Moxley was booked through PrimeTime Appearances. All three stars are also still scheduled to appear.

WrestleCon was told by ProWrestlingTees that they could no longer buy AEW merchandise prior to placing a large t-shirt order to sell at the event. WrestleCon was told that AEW didn’t want their merchandise sold in Tampa and specifically at WrestleCon. This was described as a business decision and not personal towards the convention.

WrestleCon was told that AEW didn’t want talent wrestling on any WrestleMania weekend shows. However, AEW talent have been announced for select Game Changer Wrestling events, including Joey Janela’s Spring Break. WrestleCon was told that select talent is allowed to wrestle on Janela’s show due to Janela’s relationship with the company, but AEW didn’t want a full-blown AEW show during the week.

AEW Co-Executive Vice President Cody has stated multiple times that WrestleMania week is for WWE and has said “piggybacking would just be lame.”
