Jimmy Havoc DEF. Marko Stunt

Highlights:

  • Marko Stunt is probably the best part of this match. He’s so versatile when it comes to his offense and his swinging DDT through the ropes is definitely the highlight of this match.

Low Points:

Mel and Luther coming out. Suggesting they’ll start another faction with Jimmy Havoc is too much. AEW runs on average for about three hours each week and there are already two factions. Let’s leave it at that till we get more TV time.

The Dark Order (Evil Uno & Stu Grayson) DEF. The Strong Hearts

Highlights:

  • There are two doubles moves in this match that are definite highlights. First, the double’s sequence on Stu Grayson by The Strong Hearts early on in the match. Second, the twin suicidas performed by The Strong Hearts that took out all of The Dark Order.
  • Evil Uno’s Samoan Drop/DDT combo.
  • Fatality is the best name for that finisher because it looks so brutal.

Low Points:

  • Despite being the face of The Dark Order for so long Evil Uno is rarely seen on Dynamite competing. Which is a shame because he’s not bad.

Joey Janela DEF. Kip Sabian

Highlights:

  • The Lowblow in the opening is a nice call back to what started this whole feud.
  • Kip Sabian’s front flip off the barricade is impressive given the small amount of room and height he had.
  • Improvisation by Joey Janela using a fan’s prosthetic leg.
  • The accidental and intentional bumps taken by Penelope Ford are probably a good indicator that this feud is over.

Low Points:

  • With Joey Janela’s history of fighting all over the venue in matches like this ending it near the ring feels like a cop-out.
  • So Kip kicks out after going through a table but a strike from a kendo stick is what does him in?

Dustin Rhodes and QT Marshall DEF. Shawn Spears and Peter Avalon

Highlights:

  • QT’s standing corkscrew is a little piece of impressive acrobatics.
  • Shawn Spears mocking both his own former gimmick and Dustin Rhodes.
  • Leva Bates handing Shawn Spears a book to use as a weapon is a nice bit of comedy.
  • This is the first time I’ve seen a partner walk out in a tag-team match.

Low Points:

  • QT Marshall becomes fodder for Peter and Shawn during the match and soon it’s Dustin carrying the team. The fact that this is his first victory makes it even worse.
