Elimination Match
Team TREMENDOUS (Dan Barry, Ken Scampi & Bill Carr) & Tim Hughes vs. The Professional Revolution (JT Dunn, Mark Shurman, Leon St. Giovanni & Max St. Giovanni)

Jon Harder is in the Revolution’s corner. TREMENDOUS attacks the Revolution at the start. When the Revolution regroup on the floor, each member of TREMENDOUS dives on them one by one. They decide to gang up on Max back in the ring, which is smart given he is the least experienced member of the Revolution. Max sneaks in an eye rake on Hughes after distracting the referee. He chokes him on the bottom rope as well. Hughes chops Max as he comes off the middle ropes. Barry and Scampi put Max away with the Doomsday Shiranui. Hughes splashes onto him for the first elimination at 5:11. Leon beats down Hughes next. Shurman powerbombs Hughes into the corner where Dunn assists with an enzuigiri. That’s enough to eliminate him at 7:32. Carr, the largest man on Team TREMENDOUS comes in to take out Shurman, the largest member of the Revolution. Barry and Scampi help him out. Scampi however gets caught in the Revolution’s corner. The Revolution get into an argument, which allows Scampi to get back some energy. He goes for an elbow on Leon when Harder grabs his foot. Scampi tries a pescado but Shurman snaps the ropes across his neck. Leon then rolls him up and holds the tights for the pin at 10:33. Barry comes in to fight Leon. Leon gets the upper hand, but doesn’t tag out when he should. Carr catches Leon off guard with a Black Hole Slam for the pin at 12:08. Shurman clobbers Carr from behind with a forearm. He and Dunn team up on Carr until he lariats Dunn swiftly. Carr lifts up Dunn in a wheelbarrow for a double team with Barry. Harder however crotches Barry on the top rope and Dunn cradles Carr out of the wheelbarrow to pin him at 14:20. Barry is left for easy pickings. As much as the Revolution works him over, Barry is able to kick out of everything they throw his way. He catches a lucky break with a Deep Impact DDT on Shurman from the second rope. He clotheslines Shurman to the floor. After suplexing Dunn he suicide dives after Shurman. Dunn clobbers Barry with a right hand for two. Harder gets on the apron and depends a spinebuster from Shurman. He accidentally grabs Shurman’s foot from the floor. While they are arguing, Barry O’Conner rolls Shurman for the elimination at 21:38. This leaves Barry and Dunn as the final two competitors. Dunn bicycle kicks Barry right away but only gets two. Harder holds Barry against the ropes. Dunn purposefully kicks Harder and spits on him. He turns into a butterfly brainbuster from Barry, rendering his team the winners at 22:34. I feel like everyone in this match gets better everytime I see them. They kept the action steady the entire time and told a really good story. However, The Revolution’s turn on Harder seemed forced and kind of made his associates seem like goofs in the end. That aside this was a good opener. ***

Harder gets thrown in the ring per Barry’s request. He tries to escape but Shurman won’t let him. Barry gives him a beating in the corner. He shakes hands with Dunn and Shurman. The St. Giovanni brothers are nowhere to be found, so their allegiance is still in question.

Aaron Epic (+9) vs. Eric Corvis (+9)

An exhange of holds ends with Epic armdragging Corvis to the ropes. Corvis trips Epic to block a pump-handle manuever. Epic blocks a hip toss and a backslide. He rolls Corvis into a shoulder block. He delivers a calf kick. Corvis drops his face across his knee and dropkicks him for two. Epic blocks the Shining Ace Crusher. A swift kick to the back of Corvis’ head gets him a two count. They block each others’ finishers. Epic gets two with an STO. Corvis gets shoved to the corner. He grabs his eye when Epic winds up for the Fast Ball Punch. Epic asks for a handshake as an apology. Corvis smacks him in the face. This leads to them slugging it out on the mat. Somebody jumps the rail to attack Epic, ending the match by DQ at 3:44. This would turn out to be an angle for a later match, and an effective one at that. N/R

It turns out it was Myke Quest, Corvis’ tag team partner in the Garden State Gods who jumped the rail. Corvis at first seems displeased with his interference but then helps out Quest with his attack on Epic. Epic’s partner Sugar Dunkerton sends them packing. A tag match is set for the two teams later on tonight.

“Mr. Touchdown” Mark Angelosetti (+5) vs. Maxx Raptor (0)

Before the match, Angelosetti says he is coming for that nerd Nick Talent. It’s funny because Raptor IS Talent posing as a skater/beach bum. Angelosetti takes that as a sign of disrespect and glove slaps him. Raptor trips him and surfs on his back. Angelosetti tries to chop Raptor but misses and hits the ring post. Raptor works over that hand back in the ring, including making Angelosetti chop and slap himself. Angelosetti spears him in the corner. He does some up down drills before striking the Tebow pose. He goes for a powerslam. Raptor slips off and delivers three back elbows. He spins Angelosetti out into a facebuster. Raptor gets two with the Shark Attack double axe handle. Angelosetti gives him a spinebuster for the pin at 7:12. I dug the aspect of the two alter egos going at it, but aside from that novelty there wasn’t a lot to this. I give Angelosetti points for having the same hand he took the glove off of beind the one that got worked over. Angelosetti writes NERD across Raptor’s forehead afterwards and spikes a football off of his chest. **1/4

The Jollyville Fuck-It’s (Russ Myers (-4) & T-Money (-3)) vs. Sean Harddrive (0) & Danny Todd (0)

Harddrive and Myers trade off control. T-Money tries attacking Harddrive when he does a headstand in the corner. Harddrive dropkicks him off the apron. Todd clotheslines Myers to the floor and Harddrive gives him a baseball slide dropkick. He does a springboard tumbleweed senton onto both F-Its on the floor. The F-Its beat Harddrive down until he catches Myers with a Spider German suplex. Todd cleans house upon tagging in. He springboard Asai moonsaults onto both of them. Harddrive drvies T-Money into the mat with double knees. Todd gets a two count with a standing moonsault. T-Money comes back with a waterwheel slam on Harddrive. It looks like Myers’ face got destroyed. Todd gives him an Oklahoma Stampede. Harddrive follows with a 450 knee splash for two. T-Money catches Todd and spinebusters him into the corner. Harddrive dropkicks him in the face. Thanks to Myers, T-Money gives him a Package Piledriver off of the second rope. The F-Its give Todd a Doomsday Backcracker for the pin at 11:03. I gotta be honest, I remembered watching the F-Its but remembered nothing about them. I expected nothing from this match and it turned out AWESOME. Really exciting, innovative and crazy looking stuff. This ruled. ***1/2

Johnny Cockstrong (+13) vs. Dave Cole (-7)

Cockstrong wins a test of strength and rams his weiner into Cole’s face. Cole hurts his knee on a Manhattan drop, but an atomic drop does the trick. He does a lot of damage to Cockstrong’s booty. He goes for a double axe handle. Cockstrong opens his legs and the strength of his pecker hurts Cole’s arms. Cole gets the ropes to escape a cross armbreaker. Cockstrong throws him to the apron. Cole trips him and kicks him in the side of the head from the floor. He double stomps Cockstrong’s buttocks as he dangles on the second rope. He works his way out of Cole’s grounded bear hug but falls victim to an airplane spin. Cole becomes dizzy from the spin and falls face first into…well, you know. He kicks Cockstrong’s tailbone some more in the corner. Cockstrong turns around to catch his leg in between his own. Cole whips him into a tree of woe. The referee gets knocked down while Cole attempts a double underhook move. Cockstrong goes for the the In the Pants Piledriver. Cole places him on the top rope. Mark Angel interferes and attacks Cockstrong to stop the Yes Way. Cole hits the Tiger Smash for the pin at 10:18. I enjoyed seeing two of Beyond’s “characters” going at it. It was a fun match to watch and served to further an issue between the two top points leaders. **1/2

Oleg the Usurper (+1) vs. Addy Starr (-1)

Oleg requests for Starr to lay down for him. She throws a flurry of forearms and kicks instead. Oleg clobbers her with a Nordic Hammer. He insists he is victorious because of that. THe same thing happens when he whips Starr to the corner. He walks across her back when she throws some forearms. She elbows Oleg a few times in the corner. She tries a tornado DDT and gets thrown off. Oleg takes a little too much time running the ropes, allowing Starr to recover and hit an enzuigiri. She drives her knees into Oleg’s back. She hits the Acid Drop for two. Oleg gives her a backbreaker. He goes for the forearm to the head. Starr rolls away and schoolboys him for two. OFF WITH HER HEAD! The forearm to the head takes Starr out at 6:42. I really dig how well Usurper plays his character. Starr is one of my favorite female wrestlers today and I was surprised to see how well these two meshed together. With more time they would have been better off, but it was quite good for the length it got. **1/4

DUI (Anthony Stone (+3) & Kellan Thomas (0)) vs. Worst Case Scenario (Eli Evans (0) & Ethan Case (0))

Evans puts on a keylock Camel Clutch. Stone escapes and sends Evans to the floor. Thomas kicks him from the apron. Stone drop toe holds Evans into an elbow from Thomas. He forearms Evans and tags in Thomas. He cracks Case with a spinning enzuigiri. He goes for one on Evans and ends up being German suplexed instead. Case dropkicks Stone into Evans’ Boston Crab. Thomas shoves Case into them to break the hold. He spins out into an STO. Stone hops over a double suplex attempt. He kicks Case while giving Evans a tornado DDT. Doomsday double knees to Thomas get DUI the win at 9:41. Not as incredible as the tag match from earlier, but still a really good showcase for both teams. Stone and Evans especially impressed and I could see them doing big things one day. **3/4

Jaka (+5) vs. Matthew Justice (0)

WSU Spirit Champion Marti Belle is in Justice’s corner. Justice’s justice wristlock doesn’t do him a whole lot of god. Jaka reverses it and brings Justice to the mat. When that has no effect, Justice blocks a superkick and delivers a flying clothesline. Jaka avoids a corner attack and headbutts him in the shoulder blades. He gets two with a crossbody. Justice catches him rolling and hits the Code Breaker. He delivers the Jackhammer but Jaka kicks out. He puts Justice in the Jaguar Jaws. Belle distracts the referee. Justice tries to attack Jaka when he goes after her. Jaka moves and gives Justice a double choke bomb for the pin at 10:25. I really like Jaka. His character, as caricature-esque as it can be comes off as authentic. Justice is another solid worker but doesn’t have much to him outside of that. Thankfully they worked together really well and were able to bring out the positives in each other. ***

#KOA (Aaron Epic (+10) & Sugar Dunkerton (+4) vs. The Garden State Gods (Eric Corvis (+8) & Myke Quest (0))

As you would expect, Dunkerton and Epic attack their opponents right away. They pitch Quest out and team up on Corvis. When Quest comes back in he feels their wrath too. He ducks a cltohesline from Epic and sends him into a German suplex from Corvis. He mockingly pins Epic while blowing a kiss to Dunkerton, only getting two. Epic is able to slam them together and escape their tandem offense. Dunkerton throws some punches. Quest catches him with a Sick Kick for two. Now it is Dunkerton who finds himself beaten down in Gods corner. Dunkerton comes back with the Space Jam to Corvis (a second rop X-Factor). Epic elbows Quest in the stomach and kicks him in the side of the head, BxB Hulk style. A falling kick to the face leads to an elbow smash and an STO. Corvis gives him the Shining Ace Crusher. Dunkerton throws rapid fire punches with both hands. Quest and Corvis put a neckbreaker/frog splash together on him. Epic breaks the cover by Fast Ball punching Corvis. Dunkerton sends Corvis out with the Kiss My Converse kick. #KOA give Quest a Samoan Drop/neckbreaker combo. Quest saves Corvis from a double team by spearing Dunkerton. Corvis gives Epic a running snapmare driver into the corner. Dunkerton tries for the Shot Clock on Corvis. He ducks and superkicks him into Quest’s schoolboy. Quest holds onto the tights to get the pin at 10:27. Corvis, Epic and Dunkerton are three of the best guys in Beyond. Quest was able to hang with them and played a perfect foil with Corvis. If these teams had an extended feud I would not mind at all. ***

Last Man Standing
Darius Carter (-1) vs. TJ Marconi (-5)

Chris Dickinson (+5) is the referee for this match. Things spill to the floor very quickly. Marconi hip tosses Carter into the guardrails. He gorilla press slams him over the top rope and back into the ring. He delivers a Stinger Splash. Carter low blows Marconi to block a slam. He rakes Marconi’s eyes to block a chokeslam. Carter sends him to the corner but eats a boot as he follows in. He tries a powerbomb off the apron but gets shoved face first into a support beam. In the ring he uses a kendo stick to maintain control. Marconi attempts to turn things around with a side slam, but Carter gives him two shining enzuigiri’s right after. Marconi chokes him with a chain in the ropes. Dazed Marconi tries a corner splash. He misses and turns into the Foreclosure (a Code Breaker). When Marconi gets to his feet, Carter boots him in the face. He handcuffs Marconi’s hands together. After that he ties up his hands with the chain. He smacks Marconi with the kendo stick some more. Marconi boots the stick out of Carter’s hands. While Dickinson is helping untie Marconi, Carter nails him with a blackjack. Carter arrogantly begins walking tot he back thinking it’s over. He becomes angry when Marconi gets up at nine. Marconi kicks the stick to the floor and punches the blackjack into Carter’s face. He retrieves the stick and blasts Carter with it. After a lariat, he gives Carter a modified EVO onto the chain. Carter is in too bad of shape to get up, making Marconi the winner at 18:48. I loved how this was built. Marconi took a beating but was able to use the same tactics Carter used to take him down. Carter’s arrogance got the best of him since he never really kept on Marconi consistently enough and thoroughly believed he had the match in the bag. The only question was how believable the finish was. Marconi took A LOT of abuse while Carter took relatively little. So while the story was really good, it was a little tough to buy into at times. ***1/2

Dickinson absolutely decimates Marconi with the kendo stick, breaking the thing into pieces. He rants on and on about Beyond Wrestling and how wrestling took so much out of his life. He plans to take a little bit from wrestling. You can watch that here.

Overall: By and large another good offering from the Beyond crew. The match quality ebbs and flows, but most everything is worth a watch in one way or another. For the opener, the surprise tag match in the middle, the KOA vs. GSG and the main event it earns a solid recommendation. You also can’t go wrong when Chuck Taylor is on commentary for every single match.
