If you’re a wrestling fan or a gamer (or ideally both) – this is the interview for you.
Maffew of Botchamania talks to PWPonderings about his new book ‘Wrestling with Pixels‘ – an ambitious recounting of the history of pro wrestling video games. Far from just an idea – so much effort has been put forth by Maffew, co-author Audun Sorlie (formerly of Destructoid.com) and the rest of the team that there’s already so much to tell. In this podcast, hear all about the huge names signed on to be a part of the production – from both the wrestling and the gaming spheres, as well as what backers of the project can expect for their support.
The project is currently on KickStarter – and at the time of publication is less than $100 away from achieving its goal, with almost two weeks left to go. You can still contribute, with each donation over the $18,000 budget helping make the project even better, and earning the supporter some really cool prizes. The official KickStarter, with details of the rewards, is here.
Also discussed; fond gaming memories, the ups and downs of THQ, the AKI engine, being ‘The Botchamania Guy’ and much more! Let us know what you thought of the show by tweeting Maffew, host Barry Murphy, or PWPonderings with your feedback!
(Note: there’s TONNES of great podcasts this weekend at PWP, so this one likely wont show up on the iTunes feed for a few days – until then, you can still download or stream it below!)
