Beyond Wrestling “Insatiable” Review

In addition to Providence, RI, Beyond added Worcester, MA to their regular touring rotation in September 2015. In November, Beyond ventured to the Electric Haze venue in Worcester, MA to see how they would do in another new market. “Hot Sauce” Tracy Williams and John Silver first met at a Beyond Secret Show in the Summer of 2014. Over two years later, the two competitors are almost completely different wrestlers and would meet once again in the opening contest of this event. The story was simple but really effective; Hot…

Beyond Wrestling “Tournament For Today” Review

The Tournament for Tomorrow has been a Beyond Wrestling staple since 2011, and has served as a platform to elevate members of the roster to the next level. JT Dunn, Team Tremendous, Brian Fury, and Da Hit Squad all benefitted from winning the tournament and became cornerstones for Beyond as victors. With arguably its strongest roster ever, Beyond (and it’s sister promotion Women’s Wrestling Revolution) held the first ever Tournament for Today, with the slight change in the name representing the immense quality of talent the company currently boasts. This…

I love lists. Who doesn’t? It’s a fun way to create (hopefully civil) debate amongst your peers, whether it be about music, movies, television, books, and of course, pro wrestling. It feels like every year around this time on social media a number of wrestling fans are buried in their Excel workbooks, rewatching and recriquiting matches, perhaps catching the two or three matches that weren’t on the radar at the time they aired, trying to put together a definitive Top 10 (or so) list of what they feel were the…

Filsinger Games Update (December 2016): CZW and SHIMMER

Filsinger Games’ Fall releases included the fourth installments of their CZW and SHIMMER series. Although company specific, both sets featured some of the biggest names in all of independent wrestling, making them valuable sets for all players and collectors. If memory serves, this is the first non-Starter Set in which all of a company’s champions are represented. Jonathan Gresham is the current CZW World Heavyweight Champion, winning the title in September in a four way match by pinning Joe Gacy after then champion Matt Tremont was wiped out on the…

Beyond Wrestling “Midas Touch” Review

After a semi-controversial loss against Matt Riddle last month, Chris Dickinson went after another member of Catch Point, “Hot Sauce” Tracy Williams. The finish of the Riddle match was controversial thanks to a distraction from Chuck O’Neil, who was on commentary for this contest. Williams first went for Dickinson’s legs. That didn’t have the desired effect, since Dickinson could still use his arms, so Williams then went for his arm. Dickinson again made a comeback. Williams took back over when he turned Dickinson’s super Falcon Arrow attempt into a DDT….
