Pacific Coast Wrestling “Fantasm” Report Featuring Rob Van Dam, Low Ki and Willie Mack

This was my first time going to Pacific Coast Wrestling, a new promotion in the Socal scene operating out of the Long Beach area. This was the first anniversary show “Fantasm”. It was headlined by their champion Rob Van Dam against Willie Mack along with Low Ki vs. Drago. This was their biggest crowd to date with over 550 people. They claimed it was “Sold Out” even though there visible empty seats here and there. Originally Matt Riddle was booked for this show but he took the RevPro booking against…

2015 Ted Petty Invitational Review

What better way to celebrate the Christmas holiday than to review a wrestling show? Why IWA-MS? Well, I can’t claim to be the biggest fan of some of the business practices of Ian Rotten, but there’s a number of people in this tournament who I do enjoy watching, and I’m a huge tournament mark. Plus, what other tournament would have the guts to feature Timothy Thatcher and Masada? Matt Cage talks about watching the TPI in 2008 and now he’s participating in it. I love when guys do this kind…

Noah’s Ark: The Future Is Now

Every five years in the new millennium in independent wrestling a new regime of guys take the scene by storm. It all started in 2000 when guys like Homicide, Christopher Daniels, Low Ki & Bryan Danielson exploded with a new style faster paced style that guys like Dean Malenko & Eddie Guerrero revolutionized in the mid-1990s. In 2005 we got more talent as Roderick Strong, Austin Aries, Jay Lethal, Jack Evans & Jimmy Rave took that style to another level and perfected it. Then five years later we got another…

Beyond Wrestling “Secret Show: 4.13.2014″ Review

Beyond Wrestling took the opportunity to run their first Secret Show at the CZW Academy the night after “Best of the Best XII” in April of 2014, just a couple weeks before CZW would run it’s first event at Fete Music. Hey, that makes sense! Appropriately, the night started with two CZW Academy students squaring off, as Conor Claxton (currently attempting to prove himself in a deathmatch trial series and join the Nation of Intoxication) against Frankie Picard. It was a quick, intense bout, with some pretty strong mat wrestling….

Beyond Wrestling “Secret Show: 3.23.2014” Review

As we saw with “Tournament for Tomorrow II” and “Feeding Frenzy”, Beyond Wrestling likes to make a weekend’s worth of shows whenever they hold their events at Fete Music. On those weekends, they held events the Friday and Saturday prior at the New England Wrestling Academy. This time, Beyond held a “Secret Show” down the road from Fete Music at the RWA Chop Shop just hours before their “CRITICAL! Acclaim” event (which will be reviewed next week). I think it’s a great idea for many reasons. For one, it gives…

King of Indies 2015-Night Two Results and Review

King of Indies presents 2015 King of Indies – Night Two King Of Indies Tournament 2nd Round Matches Brian Cage vs. Jeff Cobb Love them opening the show with these two bigger gentlemen. Cobb is your more grapple heavy fella and Cage is a bit of a MOVES guy. They meet somewhere in the middle and it is pretty cool stuff. They open up early with some matwork which is meta in a way. Cobb is able to transition out of stuff better which is a product of who he…
